You still have to race him once the trash talk begins. Don't worry even with a boosted si it will probably still be really close. I beat my friend in a 6.0l GTO, one out of three times. A win is a win. Just don't break it! I drove a real 450hp civic, not the kind of thing that you want to drive daily. He's probably not making that kind of power. Professional drivers on a closed course is the way to go. Ask him who won the best drivers car of 2014 according to motor trend.

The 2010 Si still rocking the K20, from the factory they claimed 200hp, to the wheels.... your looking at 130+.
And not to mention that this year is one of the heaviest years for the civic. I say that you would have any problem unless you miss a shift.

Gut your interior, and ditch your spare tire, that'll drop another 100 lbs. Or so

A stock 2010 Civic Si hell no. They're just "revvy". If it's turbo'd you'll probably have a bad time though.
I was going to say, before I had read the first post, stock for stock a 2012+ Civic Si with the 2.4L is dead even with our cars...

Stock 2005-2006 LS2 GTOs were Low 13sec cars, I doubt your LFX could keep up, if it was a stock for stock run ... and with bolt ons I would bet High 12s .... I had a 2004 GTO LS1 and was able to run 13.7x consistently and I know the LS2 was rated @ 400hp/400tq ... Turbo Civics can run quick if built right ...

Who cares what he has done to it? Take em to the nearest strip and just have fun racing each other. Besides he could miss a shift or something you never know. I say go for it. At least you have some one to talk cars with!

The GTO comparison is a good one. Yeah you'll get beat, but it's closer than you'd think. My friend started with an LS1, it was close, but I got beat (a few times ). But not by very much, when he couldn't believe it he talked himself into a LS2. The first time we lined up he decided to start in 2nd gear because 1st was too short for him. Bad idea, I beat him by a half a car. The next couple of races he got me by a couple lengths. Both of his car's had intakes, and cat back exhaust. I was all stock. I also have 100 lbs on the guy, and he's a decent driver. The fun outweighs the defeat. Good luck, and be smart! Run it with a 1/4 tank of gas, gut the spare tire, and don't shift til you hit the edge of the red
