Starting to see this on my ‘17 after spirited driving. My spider sense is tingling.

Yeah that’s bad. I would stop driving it. Once it starts to crack, depending on where it will start to drop pressure before it completely goes.

What was the pressure before? Any sudden changes are bad.

35-40 cruising, pushes past that under throttle. Then at idle settles back here at times. Not all the time.

Have to see if there’s a decent shop around here that can do it.

Aw man, that's not good. Let us know how it went at the dealership if you take it in, I'm curious to see what you'll be told about a preventive warranty job that is so labor intensive... Which dealership are you going to use?

You are likely at stage 1 of the failure (crack on one side). Get it noted on your vin's history immediately by reporting it to the dealer. So if a failure occurs, they can look back and see you warned them before

Unfortunately it's out of factory warranty at this point (by 3 months or so), and I'm not sure if that sketchy 3rd party one that's on the car will cover a proactive repair. When I got it in January, I did bring it in with a concern of low pressure (don't recall what I'd mentioned) but they said it was within tolerances at that point.

I'll drop a line to the local though and get it in to check.

Reeder is the closest to me. Can't say I have a clear frame of reference on their repair work. They did a pinion seal on my SS under warranty but completely shrugged on the loose oil pan bolts. I've bought 4 cars from them in the last 9 years but I haven't brought a lot to them.

'18 ZLE 20k miles, pulling into parking lot oil pressure spikes then drops to zero, car is being flat bedded to the shop right now, crazy thing is car was already going to CSP Monday for a bunch of upgrades, so I guess my build just got bigger. I was actually pretty upset and pissed but after talking with Andrew from CSP he walked me off the ledge and put it in perspective that especially with cars shit just happens, such a good guy. Anyway, I'm looking forward to what their plan is to get this thing back on the road.

Good timing for you. I would be interested in a build thread for your car.

What are your goals for the build?
