Hi McRat, #143 white with A/C. My car was built on 4/29 and was delivered on 6/6/14 To Porter Chevrolet in Newark De. I was having the same thought as You. Don't Know why your car is taking longer than mine did ,that sucks. I was looking at a low mile Z06. I did make it a point to make a real pain in the A$$ out of myself by Calling GM support with my RPR # and asking for the delivery date ALOT. I can tell you I have never received so much attention that this car gets. I have had folks pull into the gas station just to see and snap pics of the car. And it is fun to drive. Also for some reason this car really pisses off the Mustang guys. Besides all the friends I have that got a vett went Bald. Really, their hair fell right out. So in closing Z28 = Attention, Fun, Pissing off Ford guys & hair. I like it!

Hi McRat
don't do...wait for the Z28 you ordered (assuming they actually made it) mike here from Canada Vin 142 - NO AIR was also built apr 29 and finally delivered June 13 to the dealer which is actually about an hour away from the GM Plant I can tell you that wherever I take the car to any car show or cruise nite the crowds gather around to see this amazing car...I am surprised that the people that gather around to admire the car are from the very young to the very old and everybody in between patience grass hopper! mike www.huggercovers.com |

If your heart was set on the Z/28 then wait it out ... The ZR1 is a beast but it sounds impulsive. The "maybe I should have waited" thought will enter your mind. Good luck and keep us posted.

Ran 45 minutes of errands yesterday in my Z/28, 100% of thoughts were how much I loved the driving experience, 0% were wishing I was in a different car. It's beautiful to the eyes and emotionally evocative deep in the gut level.
If you think the ZR1 will do the same for you, don't hesitate to buy it. If the Z/28 triggers a response instead, then you have no choice but to wait. Simple decision really Eventually life gets too short to compromise. Funny story: While parking at the farmer's market a couple weeks ago, a 70 year old woman came up to me asking about the car! She was enthralled. Now I'm not a granny-chaser :-) but that is an example of a gut-level appeal that very, very few cars have.

#59 took.....wait for it......59 days from build to delivery to Houston. Heck, you're only at around 45 days. And yeah, it sucks.

imo, get the ZR1(color?), you'll have 2 vettes in the stable. Or just wait it out. How about a slightly used GTR?

I agree with Zfat -- buy whichever really floats your boat, and don't worry about the wait. Unless you trade frequently, what's a few weeks if you own (and enjoy) the car for five years? At least that's what I kept telling myself during the long "Wait For 28"...
I also can't emphasize enough that -- IMHO -- anyone taking delivery of a Z/28 should carefully inspect the paint. The long wait before shipping seems to have created quite a few cars with paint issues. My personal advice is to request hand wash only, with no power buffers, so that you can inspect the paint and then have a professional detail the car...

Every car show I go to, many people crowded around the Z28 but no one looking at the Vett no mater what kind it is. The non AC car is going to be a hit.

AC option is 1,150. Nearly all AC cars listed prices end in 150 even if marked up. How hard was it to order a no-AC car? First two dealers refused. In case I backed out, they didn't want a no ac car on the lot. Since only 7% were no ac, I'm going to say it's a safe bet that most if not all were special orders.

My wife's CTS-V was originally going to be a ZR1. 2 problems. Dealer markup And we both think the C6 Vette is kind of ugly. We can fix the markup now, but we would be stuck with ugly.

You know the old saying "first time shame on them. Second time shame on me. " I would get the ZR1. It's a way cooler and faster car and you won't be giving GM any of your money.
