I just installed the Sinister hood and front air dam from PFYC. Its a functional scoop and I was curious about leaving the lid off the Cold Air Inductions CAI. What would the performance difference, if any, be with using the lid vs not? I've asked CAI and they didn't give much info. What do you guys think?

Your functional scoop will benefit you by cooling down your engine and engine bay. This will also reduce heat-soak and cool off your intake. There are no real benefits of leaving the lid off the C.A.I.

If you are looking for a ram air set-up, please view our Package which comes with an ADM Performance Scoop which acts as ram air delivering more and cooler air to your intake from the bottom. This works perfectly with C.A.I as it is an open bottom design.

It needs to be "CARB" compliant or certified to pass state emission tests in California. Most people in Cali just un-install it for their tests and then install it when they are done. It's really not a big deal, most performance products are not CARB certified and are intended for "off road use" only. Hope this helps.
