Problem with ZL1Wheels

I was wondering if anyone has any problems with the coating coming off of their polished wheels. Today while washing my car I noticed these marks and I keep my car very clean and today was the first time I have ever noticed these marks. My car is not a daily driver and is kept in the garage it's never been ran through a car wash and I am the only one who as ever washed it so I know there hasn't been anything used on the wheels. Do you think this is something that will be covered under the warranty. My car is a 2012 but it only has 4200 miles on it. Please help me with this and give me your opinion on what it looks like to you. Thanks

no, its on the outside of the wheel. The picture makes the wheel look like the finish is gone but but other then this spot the wheel is in perfect shape. If you would like i will try to get a better picture.

I suspect that the confusion is these are the bright polish rims...

My car has not had finish issues but some of the brake dust has stained mine. (Looks similar to your picture.) A ton of scrubbing and it comes off for me but it is a pain to remove. If it is in fact the finish coming off then it should be covered under the warranty.

I carried it to the dealer today and they said the finish was coming off and they also found a spot on the passenger front wheel so the dealer has ordered me 2 new front wheels and they are covered under the warranty so I feel much better now.

I have issues with the coating on my
Factory black wheels. The paint on the inside is entirely to thin

I plan on having them powder coat semi gloss black when I swap out the pads in a few months. I've been quoted $100 per wheel for powder coating which seems reasonable.

That is the standard finish on the black wheels. Mine are like that I will be powder coating mine next year.

Went to my local dealer today and they told me to take it back where i bought it and see if they would warranty them... They also told me that is probably from the excessive mileage that my car has (12190) .. Needless to say my local dealership Asheville Chevrolet would not help me. Any suggestions??

Mikes12ZL1,

While we are unable to guarantee any particular outcome, feel free to message us privately and I can contact the customer experience manager (CEM) for further investigation and possibly additional assistance. The CEM is an onsite individual who helps resolve customer/vehicle issues at your dealer of choice.
