Issue with the instrument panel/interior light dimmer switch

Has anyone experienced any issue with the dimmer switch just right of the headlamp turnknob? I cannot get any noticeable dimming in the instrument panel or interior lighting when "pressing, holding and rotating" the vertical dial. Not that I would really use this much, but it is a feature and it should work.

Don't hold the switch up or down. You need to press (and release) it up or down several times to get the dimming to work.

I thought that was what I was doing, but I'll try it again when I get back home. I hate having to work out of town during the weeks! thanks for the info.

I had to hold mine in the down position for a few seconds to make it work. Quick flicks didn't do it.
