Sorry guys but I've been around the drag racing scene long enough to know that Billy Sharp's car is NOT just a hci car! I believe there is a little more to the story especially at 127mph.

I believe there's one of 3 things going on there either it's not an Ls3 (like orangechevyII's ls7 camaro), it's a stroker, or it's on a moneymaker nitrous system or similar nitrous setup. It's all in fun though.

I would have to agree that a cam wouldn't be a waste of money though these heavy cars need way more gear which is why I think I'm going with a 3.91 eventually.

Some of those auto guys are running around that mph. Rhino is 130 I believe. You can just heads cam and intake and expect to run that. You need practice plus all the other smaller details like pulleys, gears , ported throttle body and lots of tuning. Some with weight reduction as well. That's why not many people can do it but it can be done as those guys have proven it

The mph gives it away. A cam full bolt on camaro has an average mph anywhere from 115-118 in the 1/4 mile. There's ways you can run way quicker e/t's with drag wheels, tires, suspension mods etc, but there's NO way NO how you're going to trap almost 15 more mph with the same car and engine combo.

Boone I have an auto, cam, ported heads, etc, combo. I have trapped 125.5 on pump gas. I've never run race gas like Billy. What happens to your theories if I trap 127? Come out to Great Lakes Dragaway and you can drive my car.

You obviously haven't been around drag racing for a while like you claim.... There is always someone faster on any given day. While you struggle to come close to the rest of us doesn't mean you have to stomp you feet and claim its not legit or impossible.

I guess I'm just that dumb lol. Welcome to the days of everybody hiding mods my friend. But old school drag racing common sense will tell you that you aren't going to trap 10-15 mph above average with the same car and engine combo, weighing within 200lbs of the of the average weight.

Maybe 3 or 4 mph but DEFINITELY not 10-15 mph. Do you realize how much speed that is that short of a distance? Here's an experiment, when you get in your car today drive past a non moving object mailbox, sign, etc. at 15 mph. After you do that ask yourself if it is really possible that a car with the same engine, engine mods, same car, and within 200lbs of your car's weight can pick up that much more speed than you in a 1/4 mile.

That track isn't too far from me. Maybe I'll have to come check you out this upcoming summer

you have an awesome car no doubt about it. And I'd definitely like my car to run that quick at some point. I just have a hard time believing that mod list

Didn't have time to read the whole thread but I can tell you this. My stock cam would not have been this powerful with this 3" exhaust on my car. The aftermarket cam required this exhaust. Also my aftermarket cam makes the stock cam feel like what it is, absolute crap.
