4 Ch amp suggestions to fit in stock location

Going to try the FARP harness with a new amp first to see how the BA's sound to me. If no good, then replace the speakers. Probably will do a sub later, so an amp with RCA OUT would be beneficial.

Suggestions for amps?

Thanks..

One more question.. if I went with a 5 ch amp, does the 5th ch have to be hooked up for the amp to work? Thanks.

5th channel does not have to be hooked up....I still think if I was going to replace the stock amp it would be with a JL audio unit. I'm pretty happy with an amplified subwoofer and the center channel disconnected on the BA premium system.

JL amps are nice! And, I think they have options that will fit in the stock location.

I have a JL-400x4 installed in the factory location. It has RCA outputs so that you add another subwoofer amp.

I used the JL XD/700 5 channel amp and ******** mount plate in the factory location. Also used the FARK and vert. specific ******** box with an Infinity 10" sub. Worked out real well for me.

I went with the JL Audio 700/5 and made my own mounting board to fit in the factory location. It sounded good with the BA speakers but I ended up changing them out with JL c-2 speakers and a 10" sub. Sounds awesome.

It is a JL-XD400x4 and I did replace the BA amp. I also use the ******** F.A.R.K. harness. The way Mine is setup I can later add a higher wattage amp then the JL XD/700 5 will deliver. You will have only 300 watts to the subs JL XD/700 5.

Read your build thread - awesome car! Any tips on the speaker swap? I have a vert so my rears are different. I want a factory look so no door cutting and was thinking of using the ******** adapters. You say there were problems on yours. Did you buy the component speakers and replace the tweeters or just the mid-base in the doors. Thanks for any advice!

I am also interested in the light pipe mod to continue it across the top of the dash. Should have been done that way from the factory IMO.

Thanks man, the door speakers are fairly easy. Door panels come off real easy, the speaker adaptors I got didn't line up in the factory screw holes, I just had to redrill them. I went with the component speakers in the doors & coaxials in the rear. I did replace my tweeters also and installed the crossovers in the doors.

Your right, that light should have gone all the way across the dash. Pretty easy to do but vey tedious to get to shine right.
