Hey guys, I know you guys are familiar with all the names mentioned in this thread, but I have to tell you, I have never had such an amazing exhaust as the one that Solo Performance installed for me yesterday. Read about it here:

http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=40776

I will up date you with the info on their CAMARO MACH X system. It is a full stainless Cat Back system with an X Pipe / Resonator combo mounted mid section, that then goes straight pipe out the Back. They are the only ones with this type of resonator, it has special mesh materials inside and the shape of the resonator internals and the way it is formed is like no other.

These guys have been in the business for 35 years selling all the brands you guys mention in their 4 very large (12 Bay) shops, and designed this X-Pipe resonator, when they could not get any of the above companies to listen to them about customer problems. These guys ONLY do exhaust and have really designed something amazing. More info to come!!

I ordered Magnaflow axleback #16581 for my L99 A6 SS. Hope to have them installed by Thurs/Friday next week. I hope it sounds good without being too loud.
Has anyone tried this combo ?.

My experience with Magna Flow is its too quiet (all by itself - no other exhaust mods). But with long tube headers and high flow cats, Magna Flow is a great choice. It sounds really good without being obnoxiously loud like most of the other exhausts with long tubes.

Axle Back

There are currently three systems available:
Flowmaster V8 cat back PN 817487 Ground effects & PN 817481 non GE
Flowmaster V6 axle back - PN 817483

Hushpower muffler system AXLE back for V8 is on the way shortly.
Hushpower for V6 also under engineering consideration.

Hope that helps with the decision making process.

It sounds good. It's pretty mellow though. Sounds good when you step on it. Isn't too loud at idle. But it sounds considerably different than it would on a classic car.

I have dual Super 40's on my 77 Silverado with a 350 V8. The exhaust on my truck has a lot more presence... it's good and loud... obnoxious... sets off car alarms down my street.......... and if I'm driving in a concrete parking garage, you can just forget it! haha Cars chirp left and right.

QUESTION

When is Flowmaster going to make an Axle-Back Kit? That's all I'd want on my aftermarket exhaust.... maybe headers.

question... why does everyone hate on flowmaster? they sound sick, they make your v8 sound like a classic v8 should, and they are cheap...

Is flowmaster really that bad for performance? or is this another case of "i just bought the priciest exhaust on the market and i need to talk trash about all the cheaper stuff 'cause im jealous that it makes the same power but cost about 100000 bones more"

The reason for me is that it lost its good sound on my 4th gen, probably due to rusting. Stainless Steel would cure this but if it is still designed the same way it will not make the power a straight through system will. I saw 10rwhp and almost 15rwtq on my 4th gen a long time ago just switching from a 80 series flowmaster to a Hooker muffler. They do sound good but have thier drawbacks too.

Did anyone here get the DELTA FLOW 40 Flowmaster Series Muffler for the SS Camaro?

I've used them for my last two vehicles and I'm running true duals with them right now but i have a 4.7l and love them for a total of 5 mufflers (Long Story) but i dont know how they would sound with a 6.2L LS3.

I've been ordering mine from Delray Beach Muffler House here in Florida for like $64.00 Each or something like that if i remember correctly. It's the BEST Price that I've ever seen, I'd have to check the receipt again but i believe that was the price that I paid the last time I ordered them and I always get them from there.

My Build Date is the 10th or 11th of Jan or I need to make up my mind soon.

Thanks guys.

Jim

Since some people just want to sound fast, some people want real performance. Example below.

This is a 50 Series Delta Flow. Notice the resistance the exhaust gas has to flow through before it exits. This is why it is a chambered muffler. It provides excellent resonance at the expense of horsepower.

I got The Super 44 are AWESOME. You won't go wrong if you want real American sound. Some of the other mufflers sound like rice burners to me.
