GM didn’t spend this much money developing the LT5 to use it for a year or two and then shelve it.

Plus, the ZR1 is selling unbelievably well right now, even for a $140,000 dollar car. What makes you think GM wouldn’t stuff the LT5, CCBrakes, and an even more aggressive aero package into the Camaro and charge 80k for it? I’d certainly pay 80k for ZR1 performance that would normally cost 140k.

Plus the LT5 is the only way the Camaro will see a sub 7 minute ring time record that Al just recently mentioned he wanted to try to achieve.

Save your money....
If they were smart, they'd just the LT5 standard on the ZL1. Up the price by 5 grand, and eat Hellcat/GT500 face.
It wouldn't surprise me if the 2019 trucks and Camaro add the LT5's dual-injection to the 5.3 and 6.2 for some added punch.

Edit: It looks like I added this before seeing everyone else's responses....

Yeah, I was a little underwhelmed by that truck... Adding a $6-7,000 supercharger kit to a 355 hp engine to get it to 460 hp when a 6.2 with intake/exhaust/tune already makes that (for less money) makes no sense.

For the new body 2019 trucks to stay competetive, the 5.3 had better make close to 400 hp and the 6.2 needs to knock on the door of 500 to even justify its existence, and should be available on more trims.

I am however excited for the 3.0 I6 Duramax and Custom TrailBoss trim.

You have to remember, smaller cars need the 5.3 which would be great. But Chevy offers both V8's in the truck as does Toyota offer two V8's.

As for being underwhelmed, I was too a little, but a little excited as to what the future of trucks will be. The future is obviously small V8's and twin turbos for most vehicles. Trims don't do much for me. It is just adding more cost and no performance.

They should straight up put the 6.2 Supercharged in the truck. Give people what they want.

I love your Camaro. My SS Camaro lease is almost up. Hot Wheels edition is my next daily driver.

I'm curious if the 7th Gen Camaro will have an electric assist instead of a Turbo/supercharger. Chevy has stated more electric stuff in the future. Will it be to drive the front or rear wheels? Year 2022+ will sure bring some changes for Chevy performance cars, Camaro will be only front engine/rear wheel drive car in the lineup, maybe it wont have to be the little step brother to Corvette for engines finally...but I still think it will.
