Apple Car Play Not Working

My Apple Car Play was working fine up until today in my 2LT. Typically, when it would work I would just plug my iphone 6S into the cars USB port and the Apple Car Play icon would display on the 8" infotainment screen. Now, tonite, I plug it in BUT NO apple car play icon shows. What gives?
However, The Bluetooth is working fine. I turned off the car. Let it sit for a few minutes. Than turned on the car, Bluetooth came on, I made sure my Iphone 6S was plugged in, BUT still no apple car play icon displays.

Anybody else's apple car play not working?

What did you do to fix it?

Very frustrating....................................... .................

I think there is an update out there from 12/10, I know some people were having issues with audio shutting off, this update covered this and a bunch more similiar things. Might have to bring it into the dealer for the update...sorry I don't use Apple, so I can't comment from a personal standpoint on functionality.

Mine hasn't been messing up on me. My only problem is when selecting a song in the DIC, it always plays the song below the one i choose.

Did you try just tapping the protection icon? That may force it to launch CarPlay.

Projection OR PROTECTION icon?

If you mean, projection icon, yes, I hit that button but it says doesn't read the device or something like that. I think I might just try to turn the infotainment center completely OFF and see what happens. Perhaps something will re-set.

What do you guys think?

Projection. So yea definitely something up with it. I'd see if the dealer update fixes it. I think you can only turn the screen off, not the unit unless you want to pull a fuse.

It could be the lightning cable. I've had Carplay in my car for a little over a year now. I've had it happen once where Carplay wouldn't connect and it was a lightning cable. The other time it wouldnt connect all I had to do was power my phone down and start back up.

Over the past year Apple has done a tremendous job of constantly improving Carplay and weeding out all the bugs but its still not a 100% flawless system. For instance, the latest IOS update screwed the phone app within carplay. I can still make a call through carplay but now only prompted by siri, every other feature of the phone app is locked out. No fix for issues like that outside of hoping Apple addresses it in the latest IOS updates on your phone.

I just got a new Iphone 6S to work with the apple carplay. I had a Iphone 4, but once I got the new 2016 Camaro, of course the apple car play wouldn't work with the Iphone 4. So I updated the phone to the 6S. It has been working the last 2 weeks or so. Than, last night the apple carplay icon didn't show up on the infotainment center.

Also, try to reset the phone... It might be that end of the connection

Thanks, you mean just shutting down my phone for a few minutes and re-booting it, hopefully that might clear up any issues?

There is a difference in cables. Some aftermarket ones only do charging and are not good for data. Best to use the brand name cable for critical operations.
