How much does a UDP damper help on ET and HP?

Anyone tested that one mod alone stock damper vs UDP damper?

3-5% HP and negligible on both HP and ET. Its more a protection against harmful vibrations that larger camshafts bring.

I made a post on it a while back, I am going to look for it. I didn't go full potatoes DIY like I did for the cradle bushings, but it did have some explanation. Its easy enough, you use a knife to cut off the rubber that would otherwise obstruct you from getting your puller onto the knuckle. (This is the most annoying part of the process) Then you put your puller onto the knuckle, and a 3" extension will help you out to clear the lower control arm. The adapter was what I needed to make a proper press, due to the nut spinning when its under pressure and travelling up the bolt.
Cool that sounds relatively simple. Can you link your cradle bushing thread too?

Oh yeah, not bad at all. I just wanted to give people a complete source of instruction on it, since I had to make multiple trips to the hardware store, and sift through multiple threads and watch videos where things were a bit hard to see. Hopefully your install goes smoothly

I didn't. I am going to get the Melling when I do. It wasn't a pressing priority at the time; I had exhausted the budget at the time and deemed I was alright for now with the current mods. When I do heads and intake, I'll get the Melling high volume, trunnion upgrade, ZL1 fuel pump, and injectors.

I agree though, this site is great. I read a LOT before I actually joined the site, so by the time I upgraded parts, I knew exactly what to get because of all the fine folks here.

Cheers to all of the people on Camaro5!

I’m doing the trunnions with the cam I’m on the fence about the oil pump I’ll see where the money is at when I get everything else I need. Why the upgrade to the fuel system, does it make more power?

The cam came in today, lol I wanna take the weekend off and go to the shop but sadly I can’t.

Nice. The fuel system upgrade is part of the longer term goals. The ZL1 pump and injectors are but supporting mods for the demands of the Whipple. Everything is leading up to that. Forged internals, fuel system, then the Whipple.

Glad to see your stuff came!

Nice slowly building boost lol. Maybe one day I’ll take the leap. I was like a kid on Christmas my daughter and girlfriend laughed at me for a while.

If your l99 you don’t necessarily “need” the melling.

If someone is looking for a fuel pump I’ll be pulling a zl1 pump and also have a fore single pump for sale that is wired for duals. Got it from Ryan but never installed
