Camaro V6 vs SS Insurance
SS win this one again... Quote M/26 non-smoker, single, college grad, no accidents or tickets... Geico: 2010 Camaro SS $416 p/month based on 6 month premium $2500 deductible, 2010 Camaro LT2/RS $188 p/month $1000 deductible(other insurance companies were comparable). You can thank the actuaries of the world from keeping me out of an SS, not the sticker price. Nevada is just wrong...

suggest you all check with other companies....course I know it varies greatly state by state even with the same company..
here's my vote for FARMERS insurance (in Kansas) 40 year old, Male, clean record mutli-car, home, every other discount they give $838/year ($70/month) $725 deduct, but it's a drop down plan, so each year of no claims or points, the deduct comes down $100, until it's at $250 |

Yeah, I'm paying a little less than that for the year with USAA.. I'm 26. I guess serving your time in the Army pays off in some ways...

Unfortunately every driver will be rated differently. A driver with no accidents or tickets may only have a 5 to 10% difference in the cost of V6 and V8 Insurance, But someone with a couple accidents or tickets may have a much greater difference between the two... So many factors determine your cost, that the only true way to judge which is the least expensive for you will be to check them all out yourself.. I have Always had resonable cost and great service from State Farm, but some others haven't... But if you go to the BBB and check complaints and ratings, State Farm is one of the highest rated companies... Geico, and some of the other discount companies are some of the lowest...
Man that seems awefully high for insurance, On my V6 it is only 650 a YEAR with a $500 deductable.. but I have had my insurance with the same company since 1973, I am 56 years old with no tickets or at fault accidents... My wife is 55 with one ticket and one at fault accident..

Looking over some of the replies honestly I'm not that suprised... It seems like everywhere else (outside of Nevada) is fine for insurance rates. I'm thinking about bringing a class action suit against our courts because they had been doing legalized extortion for a long time (speeding tickets were always bumped down to parking tickets if you appeared). This led to insurance companies having almost no ability to rate drivers in Nevada and insane insurance premiums. To the guy paying $95 a month on an SS; here in Nevada it was $95 a month to carry liability only 15/30k on a 1994 toyota camry with 250,000 miles on it, so using that as a base comparison you can see how out of control it is in this state...

It's down to zip codes, not just your state. I bet Elko or Pahrump have better rates. I know that Seattle Wa. is 3 to 4x higher than Puyallup Wa. just because it's a metro center. And from my time in Vegas- you have a city that drives pretty nuts.

MN here... about $78/month for the SS, $70 for the v6
$500 deductible, high liability coverage (drive for work), uninsured motorist 28 yrs old, home, multi-car discount I've had several speeding tickets but none in the last 2-3 years. This is through State Farm... I found them to be really reasonably priced but we also have our house insured through them as well. |

I'm paying $70 a month/500 deductible with Geico.
USAA wanted $124, Progressive $224, Encompass (my last company) $104.

Good GOD!! People,
I pay $500 a year with a single payment. Its more if I spread the payments out. $500 Deductable Full Coverage 28, College Grad, No wrecks 1SS http://www.mercuryinsurance.com/ I use mercury insurance group, they typically have done larger vehicles like trains, aircraft etc. Over the last couple of years they have moved into consumer vehicles. I've had no issues with them and have had nothing but great experiences. Geico, Progressive, any large insurer will rape you. |
