This car has literally 50 thousand miles on it
I shouldnt have had to worry about chains or a damn knock

Unbelievable

I wish GM would actually do somethin but they keep giving me the run around
So unfair
Literally feel betrayed
Is it 50k miles and 80k kilometer?
What I have learned over the years is DI motors tear up the oil just like diesel engines do.
GM shortened the oil monitor life because of this.
The oil becomes "gas soaked" and you have to get it out of there in shorter intervals.
CTS cars used synthetic oil and still had chain problems.

80 thousand km or 50k miles

Yea man this motor is brutal
It doesnt even make sense to put another one in if it will do the same

And ive done oil changes every 5000km
Sometimes I would change around 8000 km

Same issue as me. Almost exactly. And gm service is a joke. All they said was sorry but good news for you we will give you 2000 toward a new or lease gm vehicle. I'm like wow. You don't even care. I will never buy another product again. Then I was told on here that a cts engine would work just have to change over intake and stuff like that. Car part.com also said that engine would work if the 8th digit was a v. In the vin. Well I bought a good engine low miles with car fax and now after all the labor and engine and deliver I'm out like 2300 dollars with no car because I'm told the pullys are different on the 2 engines . so does anyone no where I can get a new used engine. Thanks for any help.

New LLT

Take a look at Chevrolet Part Number 12664567. Complete new LLT engine for a little more than a boneyard motor. A friend and me just swapped one in his 2010. You'll have to transfer accessories (alternator, PS pump, etc)from your old engine. Trans out the bottom, engine from the top. Pretty easy...

Yeah you gotta change it more often than that, Mine gets Full Synthetic Mobil1 every 3000miles on the dot no excuse. Like I said before the repair by GM gives you a 1year warranty. The New motor is 3yr/100,000mile. I went with the new motor and I prob going to keep it till next april and get to use 2 years of the warranty then sell it. Sad part is I had a dealer work up a trade-in number for me and for mine they were willing to give me $14,000. Almost no value left in these

Yeah, mine was well driven @ 100,000 miles but it was well taken care of. ALL maintenance was done by the chevy dealership I bought from and I think 5,000 miles was the longest it went between changes. I never had a single major problem with the car and I was lucky to get $10k for it when I traded for my SS.

It was bittersweet for sure, on one hand I worried constantly about oil issues / bearings / timing chains and was glad I went so far without a problem... but I was sad to see it go.

I just called a rebuild motor shop here in Montreal
They charge $5500 to rebuild the motor installed

Im thinking of dumping some lucas in it in the meantime

Definitely not buying a new motor
2k already spent on chains
Spending another 5k to have it happen yet again is just irrational
