Any more backstory? What is the theory on the cause of the failure? Were you modded? Mileage?

Looking at the rod bearing, it appears to be another case of oil starvation. The LFX had no low oil indicator warning until 2014, and as they and the LLT are common oil consumers, unless your checking your oil every fuel fill-up, most have no idea they are low on oil.
There are good LFX engines used out there for reasonable prices. Jantzen can suggest a few places to look. Good luck!! |
