Drive shaft safety loops, What options are out there?

Looking to add a safety loop when I finally get around to installing my Aluminum shaft. What options are out there and which do you guys like? Any clearance or installation issues to watch for? Thanks

If you are running a stock drive shaft then you won’t need the driveshaft loop extension. I got a metro loop with a after market driveshaft on my m6 with a sonnax flange and it needs the loop extension.

I am running a Gulf Coast Aluminum DS, They don't use the same adapters as say DSS and so on. I am assuming if I got the adapters even if I didn't need it should hurt? I rather be prepared then not.


Is Metco the only choice these days?

I have that same Metco WITH the extension for my TR6060 and DSS driveshaft. Pretty easy to install and no fitment issues.

Metco with extension here. I tried it without the extension and it wouldn’t be enough to get past the slip joint.

As stated in my build thread where we spoke to eachother. I run the Metco with the driveshaft extension. It's a nice piece. Only takes a few minutes to install. The BMR unit looks really nice, but it requires you to remove the transmission crossmember and drill holes in it for installation. Here is some pictures for reference of my Metco installed. All I have on my phone at the moment.

Yeah I would rather not drill, The Gulfcoast DS doesn't have the adapters like the DSS and others so I am not sure if I need the Extension which I see was $14.99 and now is around $60.


I figured I would ask and see if there are others out there but it appears that Metco and BMR are the choices left. The Metco seems well made and appears to fit well so I'll probably go that way.

I have the Metco, but with the stock driveshaft. Nice item and easy install.

BMR here. Made my own extension with the DSS shaft and didn’t need it with the ZL1 stock shaft.

2011 Vert - 416/w 230/236 .612/.602 115lsa, 1LE suspension w/32mm rear bar. Z28 diff. ZL1 brakes.

I ordered the Metco with the extension, No Idea wheni'll install it but when I get to the DS I'll get it in.
