I had a car accident like that on my BMW 335. My car looked more damaged than yours, and the insurance fixed it and it wasn't totaled. Funny thing when I sold the car 2 years later it wasn't on the Carfax.Name: uploadfromtaptalk1408571315085.jpg

Texting?
The reason I ask is because you couldn't have aimed at a target and hit it more straight than you did.

If the engine or drivetrain are fine, and the frame isn't messed up then you should be good.

No reason?
Your airbag deployed because you had a pretty significant frontal impact.

They are also going to weight the resale ability of your car with a dirty car fax report. Most cars of our type insurance company's require replacement part costs to be more than 75% of the vehicle aftermarket “black book retail” valve before they will call it a total loss. Meaning if the black book value of your car is 35k the repair cost will need to exceed 26k for them to call the car a total loss.

If you had a different car like a BMW, or Porsche the calculator an insurance company uses is much lower around 50%. In my opinion you are stuck with that car. They are going to cut you a check minus your delectable.
+1

I was read ended in my 2000 Silverado last winter.
It was fixable, but the insurance company totaled the truck.
Reason: Total cost to fix all the damage was too close to the actual value of the truck.

With a newer car, the damage amount required to total the vehicle will be much higher.

I walked away fine, and my steering wheel airbag deployed for no reason. But my heart's broken for my 1 year old car. The engine still works, or it started at least, but I didn't drive it.

Is it totaled?
Sorry to hear about the accident, but is this a typo because the air bag did exactly what it was meant to do.

No way that's totalled. Too new, high value car, and only one airbag deployed.

When they talk about Camaros being totalled when the airbags deploy they mean when all the airbags deploy. There is substantial interior damage when the side curtain and passenger airbags deploy.

Glad you are ok.

I was in a similar accident about a year ago (but got smashed between two cars, so impact from front and back). That car got totaled, as it was ~7 years old at the time and the frame bent.

If your frame is ok, and given it's a new 1LE, and thus the value to replace the full car is still pretty high, my guess is they fix it.
