That Z06 nipping at the heels of the $850,000 lap leader. Wow that's moving! CTS-V retakes the top sedan spot by a healthy margin. Really impressed with the ATS-V twins and C63 S. For the money, those are well appointed cars that hold their own on the track. 2015 GT still 4 seconds slower than the 1LE and still fails to eclipse the Boss 302 performance on the track - another failed marketing claim from FoMoCo. Will be fun to see the GT350 and 2016 SS times next year.

Hellcat apparently dropped out last minute.

So is this Z06 time before or after they adjusted the suspension and made a custom track mode for that track?

Kidding...

Good times. Glad to see the foreign cars getting whooped on.

Nope this is the Z06 that'll absolutely annihilate a 2012 Ford Focus off the face of the North American continent and beyond... J/K

The new Caddys are not to take lightly neither... beware M's and AMG's and S-lines. And even you Hellcat.

Dang, that Z06 laid down the gauntlet. Still, the whole overheating issue is bothersome.

Interesting to see the new CTS-V is only 0.7 seconds faster than the ZL1 and on a faster track now. But I guess it is a HUGE improvement over the old CTS-V.

Overheating? They ran 15+ laps in 100F. What overheating?

Given the differences in weather and widening/repaving the track surface it's difficult to compare across years. Given the ZL1 is only down 60hp with more tire and a lower center of gravity, I'm not surprised if the two are very close given similar weights.

Oh and the 5th gen 1LE is 3.7 seconds faster than the 2015 Mustang GT, doesn't look like it was the performance pack, guess we'll see when this article is published. But it's important to note that the 1LE ran that time in 2013, VIR was redone making it a slightly faster track in 2014.

VIR was redone in 2014, ZL1 (and 1LE) ran VIR in 2013.

Automatics are the only ones that I'm aware of that have this issue.

Read deeper and you'll see that Chevy's in house track guy that they sent to babysit the Z06 ran a 2:41 on that track. But that was under better conditions, and they had more laps to take a go at it.
