Wanted V8 muscle my whole life, always settled for something less to be smart with my money.

Came close to ordering a 2010 1SS/RS but chickened out and got a Honda Accord EX-L V6 6 speed coupe. Everyone talked me out of it for the gas, the rear drive, the high power, yada yada yada. I like the car but it is not American muscle, rear drive.

Now that I'm 37 and have a good job I'm splurging. There is only about 4 grand difference in the 1SS and 2SS, so if you're spending $34k might as well spend $38k and be comfy.

Also GM is building much better cars these days.

You got an Accord coupe V6/M6 for fuel efficiency? They're rated 17 city / 25 hwy - barely better than an SS with the only advantage being able to run regular gas. Why not a V6 Camaro with RWD, better handling, more power, and better mpg? You can't beat the interior room and trunk space in the Accord coupe though.

I have a 2008 and my mom's 2015 1LS is much more fun to drive. Yeah, don't make that mistake again. :P

Besides, GM has used skip shift in every high powered motor combined with a 6 speed manual transmission the've made since 1989. It's to try to avoid the gas guzzler tax. If you know who fbodfather is on this and the 5th gen forum he has also said they'll continue to use skip shift.
Thanks - I'd been thinking the addition of the rev-matching likely meant a new tranny for the G6 SS. I knew skip-shift was used in the C7 though so I wasn't that hopeful it was disappearing. IIRC as long as you rev to about 3k in first gear you will "skip the skip"?

The 56W wheels are the same split spoke wheels shown on most of the SS cars so far, correct? Just want to be sure. The gray painted ones are the darker, midnight color wheels that are part of the RS package correct?

Well, I do get 25 combined, so Honda or the feds or whomever calculated that is a little conservative on the ratings, and I do not baby it. But that's not so big of a deal to me.

Just have a craving for good old fashioned pull your butt into your seat American power, and stuff like dual zone climate control and heated seats are important to me. I know, first world issues.

Waiting on the specs for the convertible but it will be a 2SS, auto, probably SIM with NPP exhaust and maybe magnetic ride. We'll see when they release the info for the convertible. Prices will be an important factor also.

Do you know if those 56W wheels are the same ones as the reveal SS? Trying to figure that out.

The Chevy emblem on the grille. Read the order guide, you can get it a couple different ways.
