VVE tuning struggles with night fury cam

Tuning the maf was easy, using the wideband Ben map for vve isn't cutting it. Results are all over the place granted after alot of time I'm within 7% plus or minus but to me that's not close enough. I'm using efi live but the issue I'm having is after generating coefficients than the vve, its adding/subtracting fuel where I don't even make adjustments. I had to stop this weekend after getting pissed off enough and sit back and try to learn what I'm doing wrong, for instance I'm lean at 1800-2000 under a light load but go above or below and its darn close so I'm thinking I need to change my rpm for the zones to correct the issue. I reset the trims every time before I start logging and I followed swingtans tutorial for setting it up to a tee

I have filters for iat ect tp movement etc. Like I've said I've made a lot of progress getting the vve the shape it needs to be I think but the fine tuning ain't so easy and I realize it's going to be a best fit and won't be perfect, but I think I can get closer than where I'm at

Not many around here.

VE tuning is tedious. That's a lot of cells to get good data for. I usually choose an area to work on and stay in it as much as possible. I like to get a bunch of counts in the cells I actually make changes based off of. Otherwise you can chase your tail.

The last time I went through my VE table (custom OS on HPT), I did it in about 6 logging sessions focusing on a specific area each time. 20 minutes or so worth of driving each time. It is also important that the car is up to operating temp. Mine doesn't seem to log right if I try to start logging right away. The values just seem off compared to the changes I just made. I try to drive around town for a while then head outside of town and start logging.

That's basically what I've been doing, I had the zone edge alignment on 1 so trying to fine tune areas was messing up the others. I'll keep cracking at it. Did you adjust the iat multiplier for the injectors?

I've gotten it closer, although in the low map/light cruise regions Itll drop really rich at times. Not sure what to try?

I tried VVE tuning with HP tuners but ended up going back to Bluecats VE tool. Found a similar BVE sample file and went from there. Motor feels much more responsive. Was running MAF only for awhile. Really like the VE+MAF tune.

Keep in mind, the E38 PCMs have an inherent issue of running rich after a reflash. Takes a good 15-20 minutes before stabilizing.

I've noticed that even after resetting trims even though they are turned off I've done it by habit after each log and like you said after a drive, it settles alot closer to where I left off. I use efi live which has a virtual ve table. I think I'm going to try using furl trims instead since wot is within 1-2% on the rich side which is fine by me since I'll be using the maf aswell

I didn't mess with that. I did move the end of injection timing around a little bit based on the rough difference in the spec for the new cam. Not very scientific, but it seemed to help a little with blowing fuel straight out the open exhaust valve.

A lot of discussion about this on HPT forums, EOIT. Question for you guys, did you raise the values or lower them?
