L99 lag and hop
I'm still breaking in the SS, it's at 600 miles. The Auto transmission is worse than I thought. I'm starting to miss the V6 transmission. Whenver I try getting power on the street in necassary situations, the car shifts down a single gear by single gear , the lag is immense. Then the car suddenly hops and takes off. This is something that's getting really annoying , the V6 had it but not as bad as this. Will this get better after 1500 miles? And if not what can I do to fix it?
I wish the dealer would swap a LS3 with mine without needing to go through the whole paperwork process again. :( I am now sure that I must learn how to drive a manual because sporty cars really need it. |

There is discussion about whether or not the cars are governed for the first miles for break-in. I know that my 2SS M6 seemed to wake up between 1500 and 2000 miles and the performance increased noticeably. You may be experiencing that.
I'm sure A6 owners will sound in.

I noticed when I had the V6 it got more responsive around 1200 miles. Felt better overall, the car feels funner to drive in your average day to day commute. The V8 , has too much lag. When flooring the car it definitely is fast, but I rarely get that opportunity. In the end I blame myself for not gettting an Ls3 and learning how to drive it. :(

A lot of the problems you are seeing come from the AFM. The L99 constantly wants to kick into 4 cylinder mode. Either get a Range device or, better yet, get the car tuned. If you put a CAI, headers and good tune on that car, it'll run like a scalded dog.

Are you in S or D? That's important. Also, a tune is truly super important on the 6L80E. It's a good transmission, just not with the stock tune lol.

Yup. The ONLY thing I hate about my car. Damn warranties are good and bad at the same time.

Yes I have driven in both, S mode feels a bit quicker. Weather is bad lately in Michigan, we haven't had much days without rain and if we have its been gloomy. I think this car doesn't feel as fast as it really is. In the V6 I felt the speed more. In the SS, it's fun gaining some speed at 3-4K rpm when in a higher gear. But when I go full throttle it doesn't seem like I'm getting full power. How do I put this in manual mode with the paddles? Maybe it will feel better that way. When I got it from the dealer it felt faster. Maybe because it was my first time, idk....

Get the Range AFM Delete Module and wait another 1000 miles.
You're gonna love it!

I was really bothered by the lag at take off and installed a CAI and ported throttle body which seemed to help some but still unhappy. Then I installed the vitesse throttle controller and was much happier. However it all most seems like the car has adjusted to it and hesitates again.
Will the range device solve this problem as well? |

if you have an L99, yes, the Range will make incredible difference, so much so that i did not have to do the vitesse.

Mine feels better on all 8 full time. I don't notice a lag now. Had one early on. Not sure if it was break in miles, or what. Could be placebo, but with my cold airand Range, I get pretty good response.
