Oil Change Question

Hello, I am finally reunited with my 2011 Camaro! I have been overseas for the past 5 years as it has sat in storage, its been started every 2-3 months and driven occasionally when I was home on leave. The last oil change was probably 1-1.5 years ago using synthetic oil, the oil reading is at 95%. I am driving the car from Indiana to LA to ship it to Hawaii, should I change the oil prior or should it be okay? Thank you guys!

The engine oil itself never 'wears out', it can be recycled indefinitely. The problem is the crud that's mixed in with oil. Also, as the engine block warms & cools everyday, just sitting in the sun, or shade air is moved thru the crankcase that leaves moisture that is absorbed into the oil. I would change it… not that expensive to do… better safe than sorry.

+1 and I presume you may be military. If so, thanks for your service. If not, thanks for changing your oil!

Yeah, the oil is probably ok but the media in the filter is likely compromised. Cheap insurance to change both.

What's the best oil to put into a 2012 Camaro LS? Planning on changing mine this weak when I also seafoam the valves and add a catch can, tomorrow going to get it fully detailed (cleaned out)
