MPSS - K1 or K2?

Have we settled the K1/K2 controversy?

From my read of tire rack, specs are the same except K1 are wider . . . .

K1: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....PSSXL&i1_Qty=2

K2: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....SXLV2&i3_Qty=2

Looking to put 315s on rear and 285s on front of a stock 2014 Zl1 with stock rims and suspension

My favorite topic !
The K1 tread is wider, but the K2 tread is deeper.
I would go K2, because I get a bit of rubbing with my K2s when a bit loaded.
The wider K1 would probably rub more or deeper.
But others seem to have no rubbing issues.

I ordered 285s for front and 315 k2s. Seems like .3 inches for k2 should be OK, another .3 for k1s at a total of .6 over stock sounded like not worth the risk. Hopefully no issues.

Have you found either one in stock somewhere?

Ah...nothing like getting a fresh set of rubber.

Who is going to mount them ?
I would love to find a good installer in NJ.

I actually go all the way up to Jannetty.
They have the super swanky tire machine, and I know that they will do a careful job.

Believe it or not have a great relationship with the dealer. They'll do it for me.

Just a quick note since I started this thread. Difference is night and day. Mpss are far better and quieter than the OEM tires. BUT THE 315s DO RUB with two people in car. So unless you and your passengers all weigh 90lbs or you live somewhere with runway smooth roads, you are going to rub. Need to get under to figure out where.

I guess I get what I deserve for spending $800 based on something I "heard on the internet".

Now need to figure out what to do next.

Sounds like you need to go on a food free diet for 6 months to hit that 90lbs target.

Yeah. No. I'll hit 90lbs post mortem. No other way. Wonder if it being convertible makes a difference. Love the tires, might need to see if spacers are available. I think a half inch would do it.

That's weird. I'm a convertible and have the MPSS 315 K2's on the back and have never had a rub problem. And that's with 4 people (2 adults, 2 teens) in the car.
