recommendations with my budget

budget is about 1500-2k. with a shop install

i 100% for want springs. the car is not a daily driver but is driven on Michigan roads which are bad. i don't mine the rough ride, but do not want drag setup.
my question is
would front/rear sways be a good thing with the springs ? i see so many other options like Trailing Arms also ?

thanks for help

Springs and sways can easily be done in your garage. If you can't do the install, the Pfadt stage II is $600 and a decent shop should be able to install them in about 4hrs shop time. As Pete posted, the bushings are a great addition but it adds quite a bit to the install price.

For a daily driver with an aggressive stance and improved handling you should look at our Stage 2 package. Solidly in your budget, and offers a great balance. There is no better way to make your Camaro feel like it's dropped 400 pounds than installing one of our Sway bar packages. Bushings may not be absolutely necessary as you will love the improved handling after our Stage2 package.

Take a look at the video we made demonstrating the performance before and after the install. You can see the car moves from it's natural tendency to understeer to much more neutral... this transition makes the car much more fun to drive in all conditions!

it's doable, the Street 2 kit is discounted by 13% over the parts individually, so you save a bit doing them as a package.

The bushings will tighten up the feel of the car, if you want PM me and maybe i can work out a custom kit that might meet your needs better.

I think you have that backwards. Sways are the bigger bang for better handling.

i'd have to disagree, for most the lowering of the COG along with the higher rates of the springs and the damping will be a bigger improvement over just sways, since most will not achieve the level of cornering to have the sways be a larger advantage.

Both are good though i would be likely to put the sub frame bushings high up on the list too.

There is a vendor on here selling Toe rod's and end links for $395 shipped to your door. You can pick up a set of springs and sway's for $500. Install time should be about 4 hours for all of it (@ $80 per hour = $320) You are looking at $1215 total.

I have one of Eibach's first kits for the Camaro and the ride is fairly stiff. If you are wanting a soft ride, you need to look at Coil Overs, not springs where most are for a cosmetic drop and not a softer ride. Plus, with drop springs, your keeping your factory struts in place and they are not working as intended anymore.

I'm upgrading to Coil Overs as soon as it makes sense from a $$$ standpoint. I've got $15k in go fast goodies to add first.

You are near one of the Best Chevrolet Dealers in the Country that are also Pedders Specialists Rodgers Chevrolet. Becky supports C5 and is THE person to see for a new or used Camaro. Gerry is the Service Director and LOVES doing special Camaro projects, especially Pedders.

BeckyD@RodgersChevrolet
(866) 468-5067

As far as quality, you can't do any better than Pedders. Don't take my word for it. Look at what Chevrolet did at SEMA this year. They had 22 cars in the Chevy 100the Year SEMA Celebration. 17 of those were on Pedders. I have a deal with GM. I buy GM cars. GM buys Pedders parts. Chevrolet showed 5 Camaros. two were on MRC and three were on Pedders. If you have seen a Camaro Pace Car on track at an INDY or NASCAR race you were watching a production Pace Car on Pedders suspension. Just like SEMA all those Pace cars were on Pedders parts GM purchased. The same is true for the Leno Camaro, Dale Jr's....

Contact Becky and talk to her about her Camaro Pace Car on a Pedders GMPP Pace Car Pedders Package. It is a bit higher than your budget, but the value is incredible. Becky is awesome. Tell her you would like first hand experience with a Pedderised Camaro. She has two of them. One on lowering coils and one on a Pace Car Package. One test drive will be all you need to determine which works best for you.

Caution: Test driving any Pedderised vehicle can be dangerous. Pedderised vehicles have been known to induce suspension envy and sleepless nights filled with longing. Before test-driving any Pedderised vehicle, check with your banking and accounting professionals. Pedderised vehicles are known to induce credit card bills and reduced bank balances. There is no antidote. Only genuine Pedders can cure Suspension Envy.
