Key fob no longer working
So last night my key fob just stopped working out of the blue. I figure well it's 5 years old, might just be a dead battery. Nope...brand new battery and nothing, none of the bottons work at all.
I have a second fob but the rubber buttons on it are all messed up so I use that as an emergency spare but it functions properly aside from having a hole where the lock button used to be haha. So I tried "reprogramming" my non working fob using what over read on here. Insert the working fob into the ignition and turn to on. Wait a few seconds and remove it and then insert the non working fob and turn to on but nothing happens. I also tried the same procedure with starting the car. So I'm kind of at a loss here, I could buy a new fob but it just seems odd this one would just die out of the blue like that. Any ideas?? |
