Actually 5th gen camaro rears are A LOT bigger than C7 z06 rears. The c7 z06 has same rear as the 6th gen camaro SS. The 6th gen ZL1 has same rears as 5th gen SS, which is same as 5th gen ZL1 too. You probably saw the z07 package on the vette that has massive carbon ceramic matrix brakes, thise are an option. Best brakes ever, I have the carbons on my 5th gen 1LE.

I bought some. They are different than Camaro 5 ZL1 rears. The “offset” of the brake caliper is different. Good news is that the caliper needs moved outboard to center on the rotor and could be moved with spacers. Still debating if I want to try it or just stick with stock calipers and have them color matched to the Z06 fronts.

These Z06 rear calipers don’t impress me very much. And I think they are cast iron instead of aluminum as well.

Did you end up experimenting with the Z06 rear calipers?

New 2 piece rotor option, Brembo non-GM sourced.

I found this on Rockauto.com.

Brembo now has their own aftermarket 2 piece ZL1 rotors. They look identical to their same 2 piece rotors they supply GM with.

I have purchased them and they have the same vent design, vane count and the same hat and fasteners The finish looks the same.

https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/...hub,rotor,1896

BREMBO #09A66513 Left
BREMBO #09A66523 Right

Prices sometimes change on RockAuto, but they are currently about $170 each, compared to the GM sourced Brembos at about $290

It is possible that the cast iron is different, but everything else looks to be the same. As I mentioned, I have purchased a pair . I track my '14 1LE with the 6 piston front brakes and have no reservations with using these on track. They very well could be 100% identical but without the GM price surcharge.

You would need:

1. Z06 Calipers (Same as ZL1 calipers only they have ventilated pistons).
Best prices have been on Rock Auto:
LF: AC Delco 172-2669
RF: AC Delco 172-2670

2. ZL1 Brake lines. Could order stock OEM lines or upgrade to Goodridge Stainless Steel lines.

3. ZL1 brake pads:
ACDelco 171-1040

4. ZL1 brake rotors.
LF: AC Delco 177-1145
RF: AC Delco 177-1146

5. Brake Pad Pin Kit.
ACDelco 18K2108X

6. Brake Fluid (highly recommend Motul 600RBF).

Best price for calipers have been on Rock Auto. All other parts can be found for great prices on Amazon by searching the AC Delco part numbers I provided.

Also I need to give credit to Dropspeed as he was the one who did this conversion first and posted the info for the rest of us. He linked his original thread above for you.
Are these a direct bolt on? Was there any modifications needed? And I'm assuming you'll need new caliper bolts?

You’ll need new bolts an ZL1 backing plates unless you trim your own. Yes they are direct bolt ones.

I haven't seen any comment on caliber mounting bolts. Are you guys using the Camaro bolts or replacing them with Z06 bolts. Maybe ZL1 bolts?

I need to do this upgrade. Even if it doesn't make a huge difference in stopping at the end of half mile runs, the look of the 6 piston up front alone is worth it in my opinion.
Pricing all the parts out it looks to be ~$2300 currently.

I did mine maybe a month ago, they do look really good, I remember when I was shopping for the z06 calipers both rock auto and Amazon had both sides but each one had one side for considerably cheaper then the other, so saved a ton of money buying one from one site and other from other, I think I picked up a set of the brembo 2 piece disks on eBay sold new as a pair for a real good price too.
