CEL light issues

Ill start with the car, 2011 ss l99. Lt headers, no cats, ported tb, injen cai, rx catch can, 1le breather kit, and an underdrive pulley.

All of which was installed roughly 2 years ago. Also got it tuned right after the headers for the 02 sensors.

About 6 months ago I started getting random CEL that would come and go. Everytime I got them scanned was the same codes. It seemed to coincide with getting gas. Fill up, goes away. Get low, comes on. So I got a gas cap figuring maybe mine was shot. No dice still get it. The codes its throwing are to do with catalytic system efficiency below thresholds on both banks.

Anyways these are the codes. Any help would be hugely appreciated.

Those are post cat sensors, Should have been set to "No error reported" when you had it tuned.

P0420 & P0430 Bank 1 and 2 lean
P2270 is bank 1 sensor 2 stuck lean

The headers and tune was on for over 2 years before it started. Is there a way that the o2s could have gotten turned back on?

I know that is a long time, but none the less, after a tune you should never see those codes. Unless you took your car into a dealer or someone capable of flashing your PCM back to stock signal, no, they will not turn back on.

Could the sensor itself be fried? Is there a way to test them?

Yea for sure it could be a bad sensor, but your throwing codes for both banks, so I doubt it. Normally I would tell you to swap the sensors from bank 1 to bank 2 but since both banks are coding, well then.....

Guess ill call up my tuner and have him take a look. But all of those are codes that should be disabled?

Of the three that you fave, all three are post cat O2 sensors codes. After a tune, any post cat O2 sensors should be disabled, that is if you have headers.

Back in February I had Kooks LT Headers, Hi flow cats, X pipe and Kooks Off road mufflers installed. A CEL came on and stayed on which I expected because of the O2 sensors being overloaded by the new exhaust setup. Now (five months later) without doing anything else to the car. The CEL has turned itself off. Can the ECU make adjustments because the O2 overload is now the Norm for the car? Has this happened to anyone else?

Need to give us the code next time it happens. If it's the o2 sensors, it will be back. The hi-flows you have might have characteristics that met the ecu's parameters to remove the code(s) temporarily, but they'll be back eventually assuming it is o2 related.

You need to be sure its not sen1 (upstream) related as that's where your AFR readings are Coming from. rear or downstream 02 sensors are okay to remove for headers they are just for smog.

OP, I would still go check things out you can test your 02 sensors there is a way to do it.

I know the O2 sensors are giving the faulty codes, I was more curious as to why the CEL light went OFF, it was On for the longest time after header install. Now its Off. I was wondering if the ECU corrected itself or recognized that the car now has a different reading because of the change in exhaust flow? The CEL is NO longer lite up.
