VIRGIN 80,000 MILE 12 ZL-1 AUTO IN FOR JRE 125 RWHP UPGRADE

Not very often we see ZL-1s that are actually being used as a daily, this is by far the highest mileage untouched ZL-1 we have seen.

We are proud to have been chosen to upgrade this ZL-1 for one of our Armed forces service men.

Older cars induce a more careful approach, we have to be on the lookout for wear and tear we don't normally see when working on nearly brand new cars.

Things we found during the upgrade that needed replacing aside from the power package.

Wires,
transmission service,
diff service,
intercooler pump fitting leaking, causing pump to not run.
belts,
coolant change.
service rotofab filter already in place.

I just thought I would share for discussion.

Ted.

That's pretty impressive, those are all standard wear items, except the leak of course.

I am going to assume plug wire, but that is not bad. I am glad to see not much going wrong/wearing with these being used as a daily. I also daily mine and have over 50k on it and fully stock. Just serviced trans and both coolants. What was wrong with the wires?

Welded to the plugs LOL, they have never been off and very difficult to remove causing damage.

Ted.
Wife's plugs on her Denali 6.2 L94 came off without too much hassle at 105k miles. My LS3 has 76k and I hadn't expected much different. Note taken.

That's me! Thanks Ted for being such an awesome guy. I had been on the fence since the day I bought the car about which direction I wanted to go, but after so many spectacular reviews I couldn't pass up an opportunity to let you get your hands on my darling.

See you first thing in the morning to dyno this bad boy.

Thank you for choosing JRE.

Very cool.

Thanks for sharing Ted.

This is what I've been telling everyone from the start. No disrespect for the 6th Gen but our 5th Gen LSA ZL1's are just rock solid and bullet proof!

We have no idea what the baseline was as he was not concerned but it made 570 RWHP 553 RWTQ. on questionable fuel.

Very pleased with the results considering.
