Suspension kit options
it looks like one of my shocks started doing knocking sounds, and what a great reason to finally upgrade the suspension. My brief search shows aFE PFADT and BILSTEIN B16 options as complete coilover systems. Is there anything else worth considering, especially specifically for 1LE? or should just go OEM version?

My needs are a daily driver and occasional track day, so I'm curious if I see any benefits from either third party kit vs the OEM one.

It also depends on how much you wanna adjust or "mess" with your suspension settings. (I've heard engineers say that if you let someone adjust something, they'll probably adjust it wrong. ) If you just want a good shock to replace what you have, the Bilstein B6 sounds like a good improvement over the stock 1LE shocks. From what I've read, a lot of people consider Ridetech and Pedders coilover kits among the best for the 5th gen. But if you want to spend ALL the money... DSE seems to be everyone's fantasy favorite. (Including me ) My shocks still have life in them, but I'm considering 2 options for replacements: If I wanna stay reasonable, I'll go with the Bilstein B6's. If I wanna give coilovers a shot, I constantly hear that Ohlins tend to transform whatever you put them on. Maybe it's just the appeal of the name, but to be a little different, I'd love to give them a shot. Also, people tend to think of "handling" as this thing you can have more or less of... with "more" being "better". In reality, it's a balance of a number of different factors. Does the car, (or did the OEM shocks), do anything that you didn't like, and want to improve upon? Sorry for the long post. None of this is the ramblings of a professional... Just EOD on July 3rd at work, and I'm bored, lol. |

Depending on how much money you want to spend, Detroit Speed's (DSE) coilovers are the best choice.
There is also the RideTech coilovers, they are not near the cost of the DSE coilovers.
