I just got my Modern Spare tire kit and it does not clear the front roller skate brake pads, so instead of getting a spacer I will get new brake pads, I have a 2010 RS/SS Camaro.

You obviously ordered the wrong one. Cause if you have the right one it shall work.

This is the kit I have:

Plus an air pump or plug kit or fixaflat wont help you when you hit something and it tears into your tire...

Having no spare tire baffles me, I know that the tires are more reliable today compared to years gone past however I really don't want to sit for three hours waiting for road service to come help me, when i can change my own tire in 5 minutes and drive my car home enabling me to get a new tire in a day or two when i have time. Besides what if you have a blowout late at night somewhere in the middle of nowhere?

I went with the Modern Spare Kit. Which is the one for my 2010 Camaro RS/SS. I have 22 inch wheels and the rear are 11 inches wide so I want to be able to have the spare up front and move the front to the rear in need be. Because the front tires are the same height as the rear, the spare is only 26.5 inches in height.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I did find in the product information at the bottom. So I will be either cutting the rollers off or getting new front brake pads.

For vehicles having front brake pads installed with harmonic weights, also known as “roller skates”, a double tire change may be necessary for a front flat. In this case, the spare would need to be installed on the rear and the rear tire then installed in place of the front flat*

Thanks Dr, I really like these years of the SS Silverado, they didn't produce the single cab so alot of guys are cloning them with a wrecked SS parts. Heres my 03 Silverado SS and the clone. The clone has the 6.0 motor also.

Ok, my car is a 2012 2SS and in the tire space is my battery and the pump to inflate one of the tires, also I have two different sizes of tires it will don't work for me. If I get a flat insurance pay for the tow

Depending on what size of tire, yours maybe the same height, are they stock or aftermarket? If there stock they are probably the same height, and this spare would work.

Tow or finding the right size of tire could be a four hour wait if your not close to home,

Anyone know if a rear tire will fit in the trunk after you put a spare on? It sure doesn't look like a 275/45-20 mounted tire will fit.

Lol. Good question. Like a 305 on an 11 inch wheel? If not, that's what the back seat is for.

Yes, it will. You can fit two if you fold down the rear seat and slide one halfway through.
