WAY too high in my opinion. Asked him to call me if they decided to do it cheaper. It is a beautiful paint job though.
Are you talking about Lou Lariche body shop?

I have an SS on order there and had my salesman call me to take a look at Snook’s car on Friday because I would like to do something similar to mine when it comes in. I talked with the painter and the head of the body shop and they gave me a rough quote of $2000-$2500 as well.

I also asked about having go stripes all the way off the front or do the bumble bee stripes. They were very hesitant to sand down the clear coat on front fascia. They said it would cost at a minimum an additional $500 because they would most likely have to repaint the whole front fascia. They were also worried about the durability as well. They suggested a one stage on top of the current clear coat if I wanted to go on the front fascia.

I plan to get this quoted at other shops as well. I work right by Fischer Collision in Farmington Hills and they have been featured on Autoblog for some of their work.

I will keep you updated on other quotes.

Yes exactly - Lou LaRiche.

Yea, $2000-$2500 is very expensive for this. He did say they went under the base coat so that you couldn't "feel" the stripe - which is more work. He said it'd be half that price to just paint over top of the clearcoat - but then you would feel the edges and what not - honestly - might just stick with Vinyl in that case...

I'm waiting to see what my dealership can do for me....

Also yea, I wouldn't do the front bumper - repainting always weakens the paint and leaves it more vulnerable to chipping... (or almost always).

OH SNAP! That is the hottest looking striped Camaro I have ever seen!!
That dealer did a master piece job! Stunning. It has me thinking about painting CGM stripes on my Camaro with your template.

Embalmer's post of $2000-$2500 would also change my mind back to no stripes, that's too much even for a master piece. $1000 I would do.

The Camaro has been looking wicked in any color combo, great photos to all the new owners and thanks for sharing!

p.s.- Though the stripes look fine to me not over the spoiler, I didn't realize how much more wicked they do look with them over the spoiler lip.

Looks great !! I just met with my painter today with pictures from Chicago of the stripes. When my car comes in, IBM, I will have gray stripes painted on as well. I will also wrap around the spoiler, but the stripes will finish like the Orange convetable concept car. Now I just need the car!!!!

I own a bodyshop, and I do the painting. $2500 might sound like a lot, but time is money, and in this biz, you get what you pay for...(unless you personally know someone). What I find amusing is that people always oooohh and aaaaaahhh over custom paintwork, but when they find out how much it costs, they freak out. Hell, the materials alone for that stripe job are close to $500 alone. Looks nice BTW.

i talked with steve basil chevy here in buffalo where i ordered my car from. and he talked with his paint shop guy today and he said they could paint stripes like that on my IOM 2SS/RS for $1000.00. i was disappointed when i saw embalmers stripes were flat black. while they look great on his silver i would like it glossy on my IOM.

That looks great. I'm in the process of getting the stripes painted on my GT500 for the same reason. The vinyl stripes are crap.

I recommend to anyone that has the $$ to do it, get them painted on!

$2,500 for stripes is retarded and you know it. Anyone who wants a good idea on what it really costs to paint stripes on a car, just ask someone with a 67-73 Z/28.

Go over to Camaros.net and ask someone in the forums section. Every second guy over there has had rally stripes painted on their car.
