Best Brake Pads/Rotors for 2011 2SS Camaro?
A shop quoted me $700~ for 2 new rotors and 4 brake pads.
This is a first time project for me and im looking for the "best" or at least most cost efficient brake pads/rotors. Should I buy through amazon? Take the warehouse brands? Thanks for any info, I'm learning more about this process and I dont want to change brakes every few years. These are the ones they are ordering from the shop "premium" (mid tier) Front > http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Disc-Brake-Pa...item4d3e19d8ec Rear > http://www.ebay.com/itm/Disc-Brake-P...-/331650481467 I'm wanting to get these maybe? http://www.autozone.com/brakes-and-t...8_183345_16108 http://www.autozone.com/brakes-and-t...3_217949_16108 Rotors: https://www.amazon.com/Prime-Choice-...eywords=rotors

OEM pads
Not overly expensive and great performance for normal driving

i switched out to Hawk ceramics and wish i would have just replaced it with oem stuff.
The braking grip is nice, the sound is UNBEARABLE, ceramic brakes make absurd amounts of noise. They advertised my pads as low brake dust, WRONG LOL. Going to be switching back to oem pad's might be a bit more dusty from the wear but it wont sound like nails against a chalk board every stop light. Nothing more bad ass then a turbo SS coming to a squeaking loud stop, like i ran over a damn piggy. |

If they wanted you to save the money, they'd lower the price.

Rotors:
https://www.amazon.com/Prime-Choice-...eywords=rotors How important are rotors? These look pretty good vs the $305 they want to charge me for x2.

Had a buddy who put on some of these for the canyons / streets we run on.. loud and dusty as shit, but amazing pads. Different from what most people would get.

You really have to ask yourself "self, what am I going to do with my car?"
If you're gonna track it, the answer will be different, than if you're just looking for a performance upgrade for the street. I gotta tell you, I've found that even for HDPE's at the lower levels (DE1 and DE2), the OEM blanks and pads wear very well, with little heat or fade issues during 20 minute sessions at around 60% to 80%. That said, I've decided to upgrade to R1Concepts Premier Series slotted rotors, and either stay with the OEM pads or EBC Yellows or a similar pad.

I went with the Power Stop K5603 kit for my SS super quiet brakes virtually no dust. And cheap to boot includes front and rear rotors and pads. Been on the car for over two years and rotors still have no rust with the zinc coating.
I am not a track racer so have no idea how they would hold up during that type of use. https://www.amazon.com/Power-Stop-K5.../dp/B00AN5S1WQ With caliper painted |

If you're looking to spend $700 on brakes then mind as well look into r1concepts. You can get rotors and pads all the way around for less than that. Start looking into real pads and rotors and not knock offs from eBay. Serious car needs serious equipment.

If I'm simply supplying parts to a shop, do I need to buy anything else other than the brake kit (need new rotors/pads as stated)
