Not cut or weld anything? No. All headers require at least some cutting/clamping/welding.

Thanks for the response I appreciate it. What would be the way to keep my npp then? Someone recommend I get the corsa mid pipe and use that with the kooks 2” does that sound right ?

Keeping the NPP is the easiest part. Only changing the exhaust BEHIND the rear axle will eliminate the NPP. Anything from the engine back to the rear axle is fair game.

Lots of ppl do this. I have Kooks 2” with no cats and connected to the stock NPP exhaust.
Any shop worth their weight will know what to do. |

It will not run right without a tune and will set off codes, remember if you have a warranty it will be voided once you have headers and tune also ! Good luck you will be fine !

I installed Kook's 2" w/high flow green cats and Kook's 3" X pipe to the rear suitcase muffler. The cut to the stock exhaust was dictated by where the 3" Kook's X pipe ended which was just in front of the stock muffler suitcase. I added a wideband O2 bung on the front side of the drivers side cat for tuning and ethanol content/AF gauge. I also had the headers coated by Jet Hot.

Yes, but not near as much as it will with a tune.
It will run fine without a tune... just leaving some HP on the table and the rear O2 sensor will set a CEL. Headers are going to void warranty anyway so might as well tune to get the full benefits. |

Total waste of considerable money to add headers with no tune. Drivability is effected and you leave significant HP on the table all along the curve un-tuned. Under certain conditions you also risk going into an excessively lean condition which can cause engine damage.

You could do this but there is a better option out there. Just go with the Stainless Works long tubes. They run all the back to the factory NPP and replace everything else. The Kooks and Corsa would have to be welded together. Any Xpipe that is designed to remove the rear cats will overlap with the headers connection pipes. So you'll need to cut the exhaust and weld it together. Cutting through 304 stainless is a pain too. If you order the Stainless Works headers with full xpipe it all bolts right in place. You'll just need to make one cut in the back before the mufflers and then clamp it all together. |
