CLUNKING sound from brakes...

With about 60,000 miles on my SS, I noticed recently that I occasionally get a "CLUNK" sound when I step on my brakes.

This typically happens when I back up at least 20 feet and then the sound comes the first time I step on the brakes. Usually, I don't hear the clunk again until the next time I go in reverse and then go forward again.

I'm 95% positive the sound is coming from beneath the car somewhere in the middle of the vehicle. It really doesn't sound like it's coming from the front or rear brakes themselves.

This has been happening for about 2 weeks and I have not had any issues with loss of braking power.

Any thoughts on what could be making that sound?
