You guys are welcome anytime!
Hey 2010...How is the new place coming together? Send me some pics, I need a little proof that these things actually finish one day. I keep getting these goofy delays like three weeks to get the doors because they are 8 ' tall. Two weeks for the roof tile, electric company changed the meter cans on all new construction.....yup four week backorder to get the one they require. Of course it dosent help that I keep on adding to the list of things to do. I think I need .... My mod fever has now infected my Cars, Shop and Home.

I took it to a Camaro club event in Frisco today (9075 feet). Scary fast and sounded awesome through the mountain tunnels. I had a crotch rocket trying to keep up in the tunnels.... trying. I'm going to relocate/upgrade oil cooler & tranny cooler hopefully next week, then add Torq dual pass heat exchanger when signiture series grill gets installed. Having an ice tank designed for the lower battery compartment possibly Then eventually having a dual octane tune for my EFI live unit from LPE. (need to stop changing things though )

Awesome G...
Your ride keeps getting better and better. The guy on the crotch rocket must have been wondering 'what the heck car is that?' Nice. I will bet Permagrin ensued. Quote:

I think we need a no more MOD clause.. NAH! LOL
Garth, nice re-tune on your dyno graph. very impressive changes on the top end. You have found some nice gains in HP with your upgrades. You are making me want to tear into the engine.. it would be totally useless power on the autocross tracks though.. I'm NOT going for a ride with you OR Mike.. I'd be upgrading engine internals if I do... |

And it all paid off. My wife got 2nd place in her class, and I got 1st at the Canadian Camaro Nationals this weekend. Both cars were worked on by Body by Biggs.

I am really getting interested in a Lingenfelter build. I can find lots of idling car You tube vids of Hennessy built cars but very few of the Lingenfelter builds. i know exhaust and muffler types make it all togther different but could some of you guys with 600, or 640 HP builds post some vids? Anyone go with the 600HP build and move up to the next level (with Cam?). I think 600HP would be plenty for me (no track - just horsing around) but I really love that sound of the cammed car. Seems like in this range of HP the cars are pretty reliable and can be used as a daily driver without issue. This will be a "fun" car but I do hope to use it a few times a week and of course on weekends go for a long cruise. I do find it curious that at the 650HP range the option for forged internals is there. Is that just for insurance and future upgrades or is there a vunerablity at that range that puts the motor on borrowed time without it? It's a costly upgrade.
I'm looking foward to hearing and seeing some of your cars. Also to being able to post some questions for you all as I research what direction i want to go. For now I am thinking to get a 2010 SS. Mod the motor (as above - blown, headers, maybe a cam), Coilovers all around, swaybars, and bushings to prevent wheel hop (trialing arms etc) and help it in the corners. Of course I could nearly buy a ZL1 for that expense but as I see it I'll still save about $10K and have a custom car this route. That's my plan but like I said I am early in the research process. Hope to make the purchase and do the build mid next year. |
