SS vs Scat Pack

How come there aren't any discussions on here about the Challenger Scat Pack? Everyone keeps talking about the mustang. Just curious. Maybe they did and I missed it.

Because the Scat Pack is a 4200+ pound tank, that has mediocre handling and braking...that's my guess.

This. Sadly. Love the way the car looks but I like to make turns once and a while.

Starts at 1:31. Scat Pack beats the new SS by .2 in the 1/4, BUT....

The Scat had DR's, the Camaro was totally stock AND the Camaro guy was more than a tenth of a second slower on the reaction time
(Scat RT = .8409, Camaro RT = .9695).

Reaction time doesn't have a bearing on ET.

Love the Scat Pack. Amazing how large it looks next to the Camaro.

The title of this thread doen't make you think it's what you are looking for, but it is.

This video means nothing as a race that close is driver ability to driver ability...

Plus, as you said, the Scat Pack is on a drag radial, compared to the run flats on the SS...put the stock tires on the Scat Pack and see what happens.

Not to mention, did this guy record the same thing on an autocross? I wonder why...

Actually the Camaro has the higher MPH which indicates it has better power to weight ratio... This is a great match up and really the 60' times in the Challenger with DRs aren't all that good. Pretty sure that Maro with some good tires could get in the high 1.70s

There's a 1.77 60' on stock tires already on the fast list

Yeah the challenger scat pack is closer to 4400 pounds. This is not a sports car. This is also why the Hellcat has not chance at the track. Starting to get into Bentley continental GT weights here. LOL I will say I love the looks of one though. They look the part.

The Scat Pack is 4,225 based on a recently weighed one over on Challengertalk. The SRT392 is 4,260ish I think.

The Hellcat is 4,400 though..ish.
