Literally what both of those guys said. I have a V1 and an R7. Don't run them at the same time they can interfere.

FYI the patent finally expired so there are other options with arrows. Uniden R7 seems to be a good option so far in my testing.

If you want to go down a SERIOUS rabbit hole start reading up on radar detector forums...

Look into the new Uniden R7. I have the R3 and escort 360 in two of my cars. Had the R7 been available when I got the R3 I would have gotten that instead. Soon as I see a deal I plan to get one. I had bought the R3 last year when eBay had one of the 10% off sales.

Had 3 Valentine 1's and got rid of them all. Can't beat the new features and technology of the new Escorts.

Databases update weekly. GPS feature stores repeat signals so fewer false alerts. Live reporting that alerts me of Ka radar reported a mile ahead. Smaller unit. Has directional arrows like the V1.

One issue you may run into will be false alerts. If you want something good and compact, out of the box that you can just plug in and roll with it, Radenso Pro M is really good. This does not have the arrows. If the size of the unit isn't a big deal to you and you want arrows with long range, Uniden R7.

I run an Escort 360 Max in my daily driver. In traffic there are a decent amount of false alerts from BSM (blind spot monitor) vehicles (this is with TSR on, POP off and no X-band). I also wish it had a little more range than what it does.

Thumbs up

Escort red line and Valentine radars.
I have a Red line for 8 years which never failed to detect.
Buy a new radar model which is able to block false signals from other cars proximity sensors

FWIW, a "hardwire" install of the Valentine 1 looks factory and takes about 10 minutes, and is completely reversible.

Get:

Valentine One & Bluetooth dongle
Blendmount
This harness from Gen5DIY

I think I used one flathead screwdriver to pry down the overhead console, and the rest is all just snap in place. The Blendmount requires and provides Allen keys.

10 minutes and it can be hardwired, look professional, no wires in your way, and fully reversible with no splicing.
