No, I have not been to the dyno. Car is in Georgia, I am working in DC. When I get home to see the family, I am getting the house back up to spec after 6 years of renters. That leaves little time for the Camaro. Usually I just get to wash it and take it for a drive or two.

I see the cam you posted about. I have watched that same BTR video interview about 12 times to better understand the valve events. On my 224/240 cam the IVC is 44 and the EVO is 60. I asked for cam that did not give up the low end torque of the LS3 and still let the supercharger sing up top. Also that it not be a max effort cam. I love the idle and low speed manners of the cam. The power in boost is incredible - I could probably make some more power with a 228/244 or a 230/248. But am very happy with what I have now. If I were to do it again. I think I would look for cam 228/244 .640 int and .510 exh keeping near that .3 rule. The .510 on the exh side would help the valve train since the exh valve is heavier. No expert, just an enthusiast.

Glad you see where I am coming from. This one has evo at 61 and ivc event at 45.5 degrees. Not bad but like you I asked to keep as much low end as I could. Yours being a 427 really puts a spin on numbers. What comp ratio is your motor? Maybe he had to limit duration to get dcr where it would make low end. Dcr as spec’d is 8.02.

The “off the shelf” BTR ls3 supercharged centri cam is real close, maybe better in some places. 227/244 115+5. .615/.595. This one would put dcr at 8.16, ivc 43.5, and evo at 62 with 5.5 overlap.

I asked twice if the cam specs were correct and he emailed back and said yes.

That BTR cam is on my build list when the short block gets redone.

I have something you might like for your next build.

Ted.

Great choice if you stay with stock cube, but if you stroke it and build a 416, things change and cam dynamics change. I could not help myself and ordered the ESS G3X tuner kit btw. I had them include a few extra different parts than most but basically what you have. No waste-gates or other tricks. Just rpm limit the boost for now till I build a short block. Cam change is all I am doing to prep for the install.

I do not have a 427. I am SBE LS3 376 with stock CR. I will have to look up my dynamic CR with the current cam (8.15 IIRC). EDIT: DCR is 8.13

The BTR3 centri 5.5 of overlap goes more with current thinking on centri set-ups. Mine has exactly zero overlap.

I think the diff btwn a cam with evo at 61 and ivc event at 45.5 degrees and a cam with ivc 43.5, and evo at 62 is negligible for a street car. Any difference could be made up in the tune and boost level. Plus all of the other variables like induction, exhaust set-up, trans and rear end gearing. Who can tell? These things are more critical in a specific purpose built machine that does one thing very well. A well sorted 1/4 mile car would not make a great 1/2 mile car.

Bottom line is are you happy when driving your ride?

Sorry, I got your build mixed with someone else with a ysi build a 427 and a similar cam to yours. I have had this guy spec a 5.3 cam in the past and it was a beast for a 5.3. So I trust him, but going off other builds it seemed out of spec. I am trying to understand the chosen numbers really.

You are thinking of Bildo maybe? His cam is larger at 228/244. TBH when I called up TSP to order the PATG cam - they said they would have steered me slightly bigger. So I feel your guy's recommendation is good. Your car will be a beast...

Nice! Glad to see it on another camaro. Let me know if you need pulleys. I think i have a 110, 105, 95, and 90. if u want the boost low for a while, I Made 808whp on the 110mm(14.7#). will dyno the 95mm this week. Seeing 19.6#s @6400 and Ted just put some stank on this tune. It’s spicy!

Awesome! Yeah I could not help myself. Too good of a deal. Let me know before you sell any pulleys. I am gonna stick around the 110 for a while but I have an LY6 block found for a forged 404 ish build. Then I can “let her eat” as the kids say.

Going to add the DSX flex fuel and tune for E85 as they new sell it near my home.

I am going to run some logs this weekend and take the Camaro to Cars and Coffee at Jackson, SC (House of Hook).

I still don't know how much boost I make. It is pullied for 10lbs but on a stock LS3. I have ported heads, blower cam, LT's and 3" exhaust. So I am thinking I am below 10 - 7-8 maybe...

ESC makes a larger crank pulley 8.25" vs my 7.8" and I can swap from a 3.6" blower pulley to a 3.47" or 3.33" - I just want to know where I am at before I move on anything else...

No HPTuners? Best money I've every spent on my car addiction. Did you put a ZL1 map sensor in it?

Yes I have HP tuners and a ZL1 MAP sensor - I just have not run logs on it since I got it back to the US. I was in a hurry to get it on the boat back from the UK and did run 1 or 2 logs but I had the DSX aux pump plug backwards (it will connect both ways so it did not read the MAP sensor) stupid I know - Flipped it and ran a short log to make sure it was working at idle and threw it on the boat.... That is why I will run logs this weekend....

My car runs much better on E60. Mine read 9% before I got my first tank of e85. Adding the sensor changed fueling, so be aware. It is much more responsive to lambda changes. More stable for sure.
