replacing the street pipe

I installed a Magnaflow catback on my V6 then I caught the resonator off and replace it to a custom street pipe in order to make its sound louder and it does but its tone is so bad , and Im wondering now about replacing the street pipe to magnaflow Xpipe or borla X pipe. Will that make any difference in terms of its sound and tone? what are you gays suggesting

first welcome to C5.

2nd you mean straight pipes because street pipes are used for either water or sewage!

3rd replacing this resonated x pipe to a non resonated x pipe will make it raspy anyway so you dont need to buy another noisy X pipe!

4th man (WE ARE NOT GAYS) !!

I say if you bought a catback and you cut off the res. that came with it. Just put the res. back on. No use getting a X pipe if you already had a sound dampener on there from the kit. But a X pipe would also fix your issue with the sound!

I agree. No point in spending more cash than you need to. Just put the resonator back on.

Ok so it sound like you have a axle-back exhaust not a catback (But if I am wrong get larger pipes and add a X pipe)! If it's to loud and sounds crappy just add a X pipe and you will get loud but not to annoying loud! And should do away with alot of the raspy sound! BBK has a nice 2.5" piping that comes with a X pipe. (I plan on getting it also when I get home!) That should sound great, larger pipe and a X pipe to tame it alil.
