You're going to luck out with nice weather for working outside this weekend. Who's going to tune it for you?? I didn't read the whole thread.

Yes, I'm pretty lucky with the nice weather this weekend. I will take it to Fast Motorsports in Woodstock but not until the spring.

It would kill me having to wait all winter, but you'll love it. Did you see my 1/2 mile runs at the airport?

Its been killing me so far as well. I may try to get it tuned early if it doesn't snow and they give me a deal.

Yes, saw your videos, looked like a great time. You kept up with that vette pretty good if not beat it? Nice!

I spent most of the day today reinstalling the engine back in the car. It took me about an hour and a half just to fill the converter with 1 quart of fluid and to modify the cam sensor bracket and make it fit nicely. Everything went pretty smooth. The engine did not fall and crash on the fenders or anything like that so this is a plus .

Here are some photos of my accomplishments today. I can't wait to wrap things up tomorrow and fire it up. I still need to install the starter, fans, CAI and add all the fluids. Stay tuned for a video

thanks man! I am a bit nervous about starting it up though. I feel pretty confident of all the work i've done but it is my first engine teardown. Everything should be good though.

Please don't call these cars G5's (sounds like a Pontiac), C5's (those are corvettes). Why not SS or 5th Gen or plain old Camaro. Lol

Guys it's not rocket science as long as your organized and clean you'll be fine. Not hard at all. It's better to build it instead of buying it. It's also nice to get to know your car.

I am an electronics engineer for a living working in research. I started out as an electronics technician and worked my way up over the years. I also own my own business servicing professional 2-way radios for public safety and such.

I have done a lot of work on cars in the past. I started out as a kid with my dad. Some of my car work includes brakes, water pumps, alternators, wheel hub assemblies, struts, axles, gear box etc. It is rare I take my other cars in for repairs unless they are under warranty of course.

It really isn't that hard if you do the research and follow instructions well. I've read tons of material way ahead of time and didn't start the work until I had all the info, parts and tools at hand. Here is one of the books I read which was extremely useful. This book I highly recommend, it has good pictures and explanations. You can find it at Amazon.
