Loose nut behind the wheel.

So I recently upgraded to the ZL1 driveline kit on my 2011 SS ls3. After a few drives I noticed my axle nut on passenger side was loose. I didn't think much about it. Thought maybe it wasn't completely seated and got a false torque. Any way I made sure it was seated and torqued to spec again. This time after 40 mile drive it had backed off enough that it pushed my center cap off. I have read a few othe threads about axle nuts being loose and wether or not to stake the nut, locktite,etc... Didn't really see a definitive conclusion. So Is it possible I have a defective part somewhere? Should I stake the nut? Should I use locktite? Am I overlooking something? Any ideas?

Did you use a new nut, and what did you torque it to?
