To order or to wait?
The available Camaro's are few and far between here in Raliegh.
I am trying to decide if I should order to possible get the car before the end of the year. (most of the dealers have told me 6-8 weeks, is this close?) or to wait to see what they get on the lot before year end. (somehow as I type that it does not seem realistice) My other option is to wait till next spring or possibly for the rag top? Would love some thoughts on that Thanks Stephen |

I would wait. GM is cranking these out at over 400/day. Unless you are completely set on a color/trim combo, wait. Less stress and you have better bargaining power.
As for the convert, you will be waiting until mid 2011, almost two years from now, so that is most likely not an option. As for the 6-8weeks, that would depend if the dealer can put your order in immediately, which is probably not likely. It is taking 6-8 weeks to get a car once GM is ready to built it, if there are people in line waiting before you at the dealership, that wait time will be longer (and more trying on your nerves)

Hello!
|
Dealer allocation will determine when you can get a car...some dealers have allocations left and based on distribution laws, may very well get a car you order in 6-8 weeks.
Like said though...unless you are dead set on a certain trim/package I think you'll be able to find these on the lots in Oct/Nov time frame. |

First of all, Welcome Stephen.
Second, if you can wait, then it will be to your advantage. Eventhough, GM is crancking out 400 or so a day, there are still many of us waiting. In my opinion, I believe it would take way more than 6 to 8 weeks to receive the Camaro of your dreams. I've been waiting since February and some others even longer. And the only way you'll see any on the lots right now or later will be because of a high dealer markup. These markups range from $2,500 to $7,500 or more over MSRP. My advice would be to wait until next year when things become more of a consumer's market rather than a seller's market. Best Regards, Rockies4 |

I am still checking out this board 20 times a day to see if something comes available, it is has if I wanted to travel and go with a second color choice or get options I don't want/need like RS package. But the more and more I see those posts, the more I become convinced that getting exactly what I want is worth waiting 2 or 3 months, so hopefully I get it by Labor Day and have a couple of months of driving before putting away, but even then, the winter will be a little bit more fun just looking at it in the garage. I would also say, that maybe you will get it for below MSRP next year if you have gms or credit union, but again, I think ordering what I want now at MSRP was the right decision. |

when they told me 6-8 weeks, i highly boubted that due to the various "its taking for ever" threads. But I ordered April 24 and got it June 19 so depends on the dealer i guess

I think if you wait til late fall or the first of the year, you will have no problem finding your car on a dealers lot at MSRP. Welcome to the site and good luck on your decision.

Thank you all for the welcome and the advice. I have decided to wait and see what shows up at one of the dealers around here. By October they should be wanting to talk a bit more. Not much. This forum is awesome. Thanks
