ZL1 vs Hellcat

So a few years back, a local radio personality challenged me to a race at the local drag strip. he is not a driver and not only did I tree him twice, but beat him twice live on air during his show. Now he was going to race a Ford GT, but the owner backed out so he wants a rematch in the next few weeks. He put drag radials on the Hellcat and claims it went 11.25. My best time all stock with nannies on is 11.52 at 127, 90 degrees at Beach Bend Ky. Any suggestions on quick mods or I possibly can borrow some drag radials from a friend but never having used them, what could I expect with them foot braking the car to get the boost up? Any suggestions would be helpful. For whatever reason the video from the first race will not upload.

I raced my buddies stock Hellcat with drag radials and it ran a 10.78! so... I LOST! That was last year... now this year is a different story! I smoked him!

My buddy ran the exact same time with his 2015 stock Hellcat on drag radials lol

This is a 2015 as well... They are fast straight from the factory! I dont think they have any torque management happening!

I just got a hellcat. I have a ZL1, GT500 and Hellcat and the hellcat is fast in a way I can’t explain. It’s big it cumbersome it doesn’t feel as tuned and planted as a zl1 but it is like the buddy that always ready to fight and your always telling him to chill. As soon as you think about giving it throttle it’s moving out. Also I don’t know why these other companies can’t get that whine like the hellcat does. It’s so cool.

That wine is very cool! I autocross against one all the time. I almost always beat him, but I cant touch the CDI factor of that SC sound. We both have CAI and you cant hardly hear my SC. His sounds like the whine of a jet engine.

What mods do you already have? Most anything is going to require a tune. Pulley cai e85 meth and a tune would wake it right up. Still going to need the radials to hook

Your only chance of beating him is either stock to stock or if you have a lot more mods. But from the sound of it he is going to beat you convincingly if he knows how to drive the thing. Your only shot lies in him not knowing what he is doing.

From what I understand, Dodge had that blower specifically so it would have a very loud whine. Although it does sound nice, one does have to wonder if that design is flawed considering how many of those blowers failed...some of them even taking out the engine with it.
