Oil pump pics disassembled

So I have mine all torn down and am in the middle of changing the timing chain to a C5R. Figured I would snap a few pics for those who need some help on an oil pump change out. I found that I could access the bolt in the pickup tube by dropping the oil pan down roughly 3/4". Stuff rags in the pan in case the bolt slips out of your fingers. Also, installing the oil pump is much simpler if you take it apart. Have some pics of whats inside. not much to it

above is the pic from the front showing the pick up and o-ring

below is the oil pump with cover off

and with the 2 gears out

Yes its a good way to be sure not to pinch the oil pump oring.


Or you remove the whole pan if you did the 'cutoff crossmember' mod

Some shim the oil pump, well melling do advice to do it. The hardest part is to find the little plastic shims to do it...

Yup. Its on my 15. I think they started that in either 13 or 14

My Camaro is 2010.
