Inside wheel damage

My original post got moved to the wheels forum but I need info from the 1LE folks. Two rear wheels showing chipping and other damage on the inside lip of the rim. They were not dropped, put through a car wash with rails, damaged during tire change, and the brown mark isn't on the other rim with similar damage. One rim was even repaired about a month ago from a front side curb scrap, I know for a fact it didn't have any issues when it went on the car.

Does anyone else see any type of chips etc. on the "inside" lip of your 1LE rims?

Looks like transport damage to me from loading and unloading off of the semi transport trailers, I work at a dodge/jeep/chrysler dealership and see this from time to time on the SRT wheels due to the lower profile tires

Based on the witness mark on the tire it rubbed something recently or was set down or dropped on the backside when it was off.

at least the back side of your wheels are painted, unlike mine.

I have similar marks inside my wheels also and I believe that's just what goes on under our cars in every day life. Stuff flies around under a car quite abit.
I have two sets of wheels/tires, one for every day driving and the other for racing. Its the same on both. Little chips everywhere.
Hope that helps.

Is that the rim that was repaired in the pic? The tires lettering looks like it has high gloss black paint on the the tire but then appears to be scrubbed just on the high spots of tires or it that just water? Just curious.. By the way here is the paint for touch up found in the sticky tire/wheel section. Black paint for 1LE/ZL1 rims Dupli-Color NGSF100 Black Exact-Match Touch-up Paint - 0.5 oz. Never used it, so can't verify the exact match.

Peace,

Brent

Yes that rim was repaired, it wasn't water.... I will have to take a closer look at the tire next time I have it off, I was too concentrated on the chips... Thanks for the info

Thanks for the feedback that was my big question - has anybody else seen this on their car?
I have a service appt. coming up to change out the brake reservoir (leaking at the seams) I am going to have them take a look and tell me what they think....
