catch can yes or no? Answer inside.

So, today I took off throttle body to send to Bo. While off I took a picture inside the intake. This is after 8,880 miles with the stock 1LE oil seperator. No track days, normal driving with many spirited runs. I'll be getting a catch can.

Search is your friend. Lol short answer is some have the issue bad enough that the computer will start pulling power. Mine isn't that bad, but, going to get a can anyway.

Pay attention to your cold weather and catch cans...

Just emptied mine for the first time on my 2015 1le, 4500 miles and the can was over half full. Well worth the money IMO.

I'm curious if any one has a pic of intake with can installed. On mybpic, there's no puddles, just a sheen of oil coating everything. The trotted body still looked brand new.

Because, if he wants lots of info, instead of a short, possible confusing answer, search, search and research. Read about a subject, then make up your own mind. The forums are great, but everyone has different opinions. What works for one, may not for another. There is no "one size fits all" when it comes to cars. JimJ stated he was new to catch cans. There is a wealth of information here, good and bad. It's up to him to search.

It's a good question.

Does this just happen to the LS3 or all LS engines.
I don't remember people talking about catch cans in the days of the LS1.

My oil separator isn't even installed. The directions say to only install if tracking the car.

JIMJ, and Elic1, I think I came across as a smart ass. Furterest thing on my mind. Jims questions are relevant. I just don't have real good answers for him. My 99 Z28 (ls1) did not have this issue, but then again I ran a lot of N2O through the intake, and never checked it after taking N2O off. I know the car had 280,000 miles on it when I sold it, and the motor was just starting to smoke. I don't belive this oil in the intake is a problem for the vast majority of camaro owners. I'm just anal enough that it bothers me. I will be putting ported TB on, the CAI, then headers/ tune. Sometime after that will be heads and cam. My 1LE is not a daily driver, and will see track duty.
