Thanks for validating my thoughts. I thought a low mileage used 'Vette would be a better choice than a new Camaro. It's not going to be a daily driver nor will I be taking it to the track. I ride a motorcycle to work every day and need a four wheel vehicle to drive when its raining or I have a meeting to attend. I've been driving my Ram dually, but its an unwieldy beast around town.

We had put a deposit down on a 2LT and before we could pick it up, the stop sale took effect. After two weeks the wife said we were going to find something else to buy and moved on. She wanted a six cylinder and it wasn't going to be my ride so this will work out better anyway.

Yeah, looks like I was wrong on the around the track part, acceleration wise they're both pretty close.

with some minor improvements to the C6 in the tire and brake department though your average drive won't be able to tell the difference I don't think.

Since you asked

For me, if it's not a ne vette, it's gotta be a new camaro. Preferably, drop top.

The Camaro is a REALLY NICE CAR. The Corvette, however, is far more than that. I've had many Camaro's and many Corvette's... both old and new. If you can live with a two seat vehicle, nothing beats a Vette. It is a world all onto it's own. If you need the extra seats, then the Camaro.

Just because the new Vette is, well, all that it is, there is no reason to turn your nose up at a 2008+ C6. I had a 2008 convertible with the Z51 package and it was one hell of a car. You have to spend a good bit of money on a Camaro to get into that driving category.

This is pretty much my view, the Camaro will never hold a candle to the vette when it comes to a performance car. The Camaro is just plain to fat.

If you need that 4 seats though the Camaro is a sweet ride.

It really just depends on what you're after, if you just wanna cruise around in a muscle car then the Camaro is great. If you wanna carve up the twisties and the track then a vette is best.

Exactly.
My suggestion is to have one of each.

I don't know what to tell you other than it depends on what your needs are.
I love our '09 Vette we bought new and love our '14 SS as well.
I can say i don't ever intend to part with the Vette.

Good luck!

I agree with the above. It depends on your intentions. My mother has had 5 vorbettes. Her current car is a 2004 Z06. If you intend on tracking the car, I would go with the Corvette. If you want a road cruiser, the Camaro has a better ride. The Corvette, stock for stock, will pretty much out preform your everyday Camaro on the track. On the streets, however, the Camaro is a more comfortable ride. I think the build quality, which almost all magazines always complain about, is about the same in both, but the Corvettes feel harsher. I think this is because of the lighter weight and stiffer suspension system.
