I don't think it fell off, I think a car hit it and knocked it off!

How much are similar cars selling for in your area? If it can be repaired for less than the cost of a replacement vehicle, then they will fix it. From the photos I would think they can.

I'm not adjuster, but that doesn't look like a total. Mine's been hit 3 times and managed to survive a beer truck into the fender (stationary), a junker into the rear end at a stoplight (stationary), and a deaf guy backing into it at a gas station (stationary). These cars are tough, and mine's going to last forever, apparently.

If the accident wasn't your fault, and they don't total it, also go after the person who hit you for diminished value.

You have insurance don`t you. And did you file a police report. I would let them deal with it .That is what you pay them for.

I have Geico and the guy who hit me has Allstate. They offered 6400 to repair it, I laughed and said absolutely not. They came back yesterday with 7000. I laughed and said no again. The rearend needs replaced. Both axoes were pulled from the housing and the tires need replacing. I talked to a lawyer and we're seeing about being totalled.
Thanks for the help so far. With the hurricane, everything has been running slow or shut down

Hit them up for diminished value, which was mentioned above! Once this hit's Carfax after repair, you've lost a few grand in value... trust me!

Here we go again. That's not how it works. Let me explain:
If a car's pre loss value is $30,000.
If it's current after loss salvage value is $8,000,
Then any estimate NEAR $22,000 totals it.
In other words you don't have to reach the pre loss value on an estimate to total a damaged car.
