The LT4 engines installed in the Z06/Z07 package are hand assembled at the performance build center in Bowling Green.

I'm thinking along these lines, maybe between 65 and 67k.

Is the LT4 built in both Bowling Green, KY and Tonawanda, NY?

Maybe the final assembly is done in Bowling Green
But the component manufacturering (block, heads, crank, etc) is done in Tonawanda?

Here is a cut/paste from GM's Tonawanda website:
http://media.gm.com/media/us/en/gm/c...tonawanda.html

Products:

Ecotec 2.0L Turbo/2.5L – Chevrolet Malibu & Impala, Buick Regal & Cadillac ATS & CTS
EcoTec3 4.3L V6, 5.3L V8 & 6.2L V8 – Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra Pickup Trucks and Chevrolet Tahoe & Suburban, Cadillac Escalade and GMC Yukon & Yukon Denali SUVs
6.2L LT1 V8 for the 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray (Ward's Automotive 10 Best Engine List for second consecutive year!)
6.2L LT4 V8 for the 2015 Corvette Z06 and 2016 Cadillac CTS-V

I was told this during the plant tour back in August but I did find this article from GM. Seems to say that all Z06 trims that include the performance build experience option is hand built in KY not just the Z07 package.

LovePhenom works at the tonawanda plant if my memory is correct and he may be able to shed some light on this subject matter for us.

You know.. initially i was bummed about the notion of the next gen zl1 not packing at the very least 700hp. (Oh the horror!)

But given that at 650hp and let say 200lbs more than a 1ss... the new zl1 at 650hp might have enough to get to the performance goals to, at the very least, match the Hellcat in a straightline if not exceed it.

The mustang is heavier probably over the 4k mark.. not exactly has porky lime the hellcat but, again, maybe enough even with 700hp to keep the zl1 in the race at 650hp.

Current 1ss's are trapping 115 - 116mph. 200hp more is well over 10mph+ over that. Add the weight penalty and we got a race.

I fear that the next uber-camaro will be held back by it's big brother, the Vette. What will the general do it it's severely outgunned again?
Camaro Engineers are not being held back by Corvette or GM. Their goal is to make the best sports car within a certain price point. So if it ends up being better than the corvette, take for instance the Z/28, then be it.

IMHO, I dont feel it is outgunned. The GT350 barely beats the Z/28 on a significantly aged chassis. I thing everyone will be pleased with the new Z iteration.

This will option out close to 70k imho. High fifties perhaps for a 1le.

Camaro is not a Sports Car. It has a rear seat.

A 1le is more than enough to handle a gt350. SS will already do it with MRC. Lt4 will murder the gt350r

IMO the 14/15 Z/28 or 15 GT350R are truer to the definition of a sports car than a option ladened 14/15 3LT Z51 Corvette.

The capabilities of 2+2 sporty cars has evolved to the point where attitudes are changing. Two doors is more important than two seats and magazine reviews consistently say the SS has crossed into true sports car territory.

The back seats in the 16' are seats in name only, lol, they should just call them storage shelves.
