Turbo VS Supercharger
So I was thinking today on a long drive. A SC causes a parasitic loss of power to turn it. SO just making numbers up lets say your car makes 550 RWHP with 7 psi using a SC. The SC would be using 100 HP to make that 550 number right. Your engine is actually doing the work for 650 RWHP as far as wear and tear and abuse on the motor. If you have a turbo and you make 7psi wouldnt the engine make 650 RWHP with the same amount of boost? Or you could reduce the boost and make 550 RWHP and have less wear and tear on your motor? Just something that popped into my head while bored today.

Lol! Your thought process is on the right track, but there is some parasitic loss associated with turbos. They are much more efficient than a SC for sure though.

I started looking online I want something between like the Turbonetics stage 1 and stage 2. More than 615 CHP and less than 1000 CHP. I would even sell my SC and go this route easier on motor and more HP from the same boost.

I'd like to start an argument. Take to 2 cars, both equally equipped, one with a SC and the the other with turbo. Who do you think will win in the quarter? My money is on the SC and I've got the ride to back it up.

How about a properly sized turbo (not too small not too big)? The problem with most turbo setup is too much turbo or not enough engine, and lack of proper seat time.

I've had both. I had superchargers on my Camaro from 600rwhp to 1050rwhp. And now I have turbos at 1300+.
If your target is 600-800 go supercharger. If you want more then 800 go turbos. Supercharger builds are much simpler then turbos. Less little odds and ends. Also if you stay at say 700rwhp you have more area under the power curve vs a turbo build at the same power. They bring the power on differently. maybe you dont like the power down low.

Sorry guys apparently this is a sore subject. I am not trying to start shit. I honestly was riding along and my mind wanders when I am bored. I would like to know more about similar cars one turbo one SC and why the SC would be faster. NOT same HP but same mods. So a turbo car making 7 psi vs a SC car making 7 psi. My car is stock with a SC making 7psi and I have 547 RWHP. My theory is that my motor is doing the work for about 647 RWHP but the parasitic loss of the SC is costing me 100 RWHP. With a turbo making 7psi I assume I would make about 625 HP with my motor doing the same work because the psi is the same. Maybe I am off on my numbers I dont know the exact parasitic loss of either. given those parameters I assumed the turbo car with almost 75 more HP would be faster, but the power delivery can make a difference. I am not just talking drag racing either. I doubt I would get enough money for my SC to get a turbo anyway. I was just thinking and wanted to talk with knowledgeable people about my theory.

Simple physics really; a SC is direct drive so delivers instant boost. Turbo is gas-driven; takes marginally longer to spool up the impeller. Same end result, more O2 forced into the cylinder. Blower deffo quicker off the pad but at the gate it could go the turbo's way if it's matched correctly. Better gas mileage with a turbo but it's all about the look. And that whine - addictive.
